  the food is excellent. We got some sparerips there and a ribeye and I think both where the best we ever had to now and the pricing is really fair. The place is perfectly located near the cathedral and town center. The hotel is a lovely place, but we could not really sleep well due to the worn out mattresses.

  you just can't keep mattresses in the room that are bend like hammocks. We both had back pain after this night. Simply unacceptable. Having old and historic furnature in the room is nice, but beds should be modern.

  The location is superb. The type of room we booked was the biggest they had with window. The wine and cheese was evening much appreciated. Overall clean and no excessive frills. The bed was exactly how I like it. Firm. Staff very helpful and supportive. I would like to stay there again.

  The tea/coffee station was not ergonomically close to a power outlet. I moved it. Some floors are not fully integrated with the lift placements which could be a problem if heavy lifting of luggage is an issue (it wasn't an issue for me) It was rather difficult to find any other faults.

  I was offered on booking.com an option to check in earlier for £20 that I tried doing then was told I couldn't until on the day. I rang up multiple times and was advised I couldn't, and as we were due to see taylor swift had to get ready at Brewdog hotel which my friend stayed at (a much better quality hotel I must say - if you're looking in edinburgh I'd recommend them) There was a blinking light at the thermostat which didn't stop all night long, had a really poor quality sleep (4-5 hrs). Was the room worth nearly £500 due to price gouging due to a show being on at murrayfield? No. Location was approx 30 mins walk from the stadium
