Beautiful old building. Large terrace to sit and enjoy a drink and the view of the garden. Parking included. Staff were friendly but seemed like they needed a few more to take the pressure off. Bedroom a good size, initially thought the view over the side of the hotel/bin area wasn't what we'd expected, but the full moon came up on that side, as did the sunrise, and both were spectacular (don't look down, look out across the rooftops to appreciate your view.) A family of House Martins were needing close by to our window, fascinating to see/watch then. Bathroom big too. Breakfast was a good spread of options and coffee. Definitely take time to have a walk around the gardens, stunning trees. Staff at the gym/spa were all very pleasant and helpful.

The parking - we struggled to find a place but did so after a few minutes (suggest you drop your bags at reception, then park) Had to wait for service at the bar, and at breakfast as they seemed short of staff. No lift available and we were on the top floor...luckily we only had a small bag each. Shame you have to walk to a different building for the spa. Carpet/hallways feel like they need updating. The door being used to access the terrace was a fire for being held open by a chair, not ideal.... maybe there was another door but this was the one most of the guests seemed to be using. If there was a more appropriate for it would be useful to be told on check in. Delays seating people for breakfast as it was so popular.... go early.

No hotel carpark - there is a secure, public one right next door. Bar understaffed - took 10mins to get a drink.

Overpriced!! There was no basin/ water source in kitchenette. For the amount charged, would have expected better quality of coffee, tea. Saggy mattress. Carpet was filthy and threadbare!

No storage for clothing. Drawers in room were painted over as owner didn't like anything inside them? Room had poor sound insulation above, next and outside. It didn't help that we stayed on a weekend as noise from functions and neighbouring clubs went on to the early hours. Be warned.
