We were able to park several hours before check in, and actually to access the room to manage a quick change into wedding gear so despite no guarantees, the hosts were great about accommodating our requests. There was easy parking space. The breakfast was lovely: fruit salad, full English, good coffee and space. The Little Maids room was charming - old slanting floors and beams, a bath under the eaves and a comfortable if firm bed.

The little Maids room was not designed for people who struggle to get up tight stairs, or people over 6 feet who would bang their heads, or people who want to wash their hair other than in a bath (without a shower head)

All the staff were brilliant, the food was excellent and the room was comfortable. Stepping into the bath for a shower was hazardous, the extractor fan didn’t work. Tea,coffee water and biscuits were provided in the room and the truffles were a nice touch.

Room cleaning should be done UNLESS you decline not the other way round. Breakfast staff were rude and rushed to the point of taking plates before I’d actually finished. One of the evening staff was swearing in the reception area and threw menus and other items across the floor and stormed out. No apologies from other staff and it seems that the foot of the stairs is a meeting ground for disgruntled staff in full sight of guests .
