The Old Gordon House occupies a prime location on Aldeburgh High Street with the town's facilities such as two fish and chips take-ways, pubs and restaurants within easy reach. The beach is a two minute walk away. Location wise, you couldn't get much better than this. There is one parking space to the rear of the property, which is tight to get into, but at least your car is off the road. The rooms are all a good size and are nicely furnished. The property is well equipped with plenty of kitchen equipment, glasses, plates and cutlery. There's also a utility room with a microwave, washing machine and dryer. There were plenty of clean towels and arrival and a small soap placed on each sink. So you will need to bring your own toiletries - this is not a hotel. You might to pack a few loos rolls too, depending on how long you're staying.

We found the bed mattresses a little uncomfy, and this seems to be a common theme with the reviews we read. The exterior of the property looks a little tired and could benefit with a coat of paint and some wood repairs to window frames which detract from otherwise strong kerb appeal. The rear of the property comprises a narrow courtyard space that leads up the car parking space, which is shared with some rather tired and dirty garden furniture. While the vegetation around that area had been cut back and was quite neat, neither space are particularly appealing to sit out and have a coffee or a meal. Overall, the property whilst clean, does feel a little tired when compared to other holiday lets in the area.

Comfortable and warm apartment with an abundance of groceries and cafes on your doorstep. The kids loved watching the red buses pass from the beautiful big Lounge Room Window. Beds were comfortable. The apartment was a little older than expected and would recommend a thorough clean of inside the kitchen cupboards and drawers. Also somewhere to hang towels would be good. We are a family of 5 and had to hang our bath towels off doors to dry. Otherwise good. Approx 40 mins by train too city.

Excellent service, every single member of staff was friendly and keen to help. The hotel had just the right amount of Old World charm and a very pleasant ambience. Excellent Dinner and Breakfast. Very good car parking. Luke the barman was a font of local knowledge as well as an excellent barman!

The staff were friendly and attentive. We were greeted on arrival and the service was great all the time. There was an abundance of staff in the restaurant both at dinner and breakfast. The rest of the estate was lovely, especially the farm shop.
