Clean, spacious and reasonably priced. A short bus ride into town and 10 mins walk from sea. Everything was provided, towels, washing up liquid etc…a welcome gift of tea, coffee, biscuits, crisps, milk and wine. Set in a quiet courtyard area there is a shared garden with furniture for use. Facilities included washing machine and car parking. Joules was a wonderful host giving prompt instructions of where to locate keys, park and local information. A lovely place to stay. Thank you Joules for sharing.

Lovely pub with excellent ambience and good food. "Pod" accommodation was nicer and more spacious than I expected . Very comfy beds

The included "contintental breakfast" is a good idea as pub not open. However it was very minimalist, and assumed everyone eats cereal which is covered in sugar (never touched) and sweet yogurt.... disappointing given the overall room charge.

The lady on reception was very nice and offered me an upgrade as my room wasn't ready at 4pm,

As my room wasn't ready I was given a complementary drink voucher, however when I got to the bar the bartender was extremely rude so I decided not to have the complementary drink and sat outside the hotel whilst I waited almost an hour for this upgraded room. The upgrade was basically a room with a window, not sure why they offer rooms without windows in the first place, The room was extremely dated and walls covered in marks, the corridor carpet leading to the room I was given was very dirty and had large stains on it, I complained to the manager about the bartender and also in my opion the substandard accommodation id been given, however he basically said there was nothing he could do. Shocking response from a hotel manager, I've used this hotel on many occasions and always found the standard to be rather high, not on this occasion, On reflection I should have stayed at the premier inn which is right next to all amenities. I'll definitely know better next time. I will not be using this hotel again and as a lone traveller on this occasion, I felt extremely uncomfortable with the whole experience, and for £114 I'd have expected better.

The location is out of the way, we walked to a pub / restaurant about half hour each way (it was worth the walk) - This place is dead, other than funeral receptions nothing is happening and the bar is too expensive. Rooms including bathrooms are falling to bits and need sorting. E.G. we had an old wooden toilet seat that had seen a lot of usage over a long period of time.

The towels were tired, flat and grey when they had been white at some time in the past, I would not have had them in my house even for my dogs. There was no Tea, Milk , in the morning i asked for some to be told "Oh we don't have much left" but was supplied with a tea bag, instant coffee and milk sachets in a plastic cup.The TV remote had seen better days and the TV had to be unplugged to switch it off. There was a Tassimo machine (no milk remember) but the descale function was activated and could not be used. I would have expected a reasonable quality of toilet tissue for the room price but the dispenser held the cheapest available from the wholesaler. Breakfast was dreadful, overcooked and mean, I left it. I complained to the owner who said she would issue a refund on the following day. Surprise ! She then accused me of trying to defraud her and said everything was perfect and she had photo's to prove it and would not be issuing a refund....Are they the ones she uses to advertise her "enterprise" I wonder? I have stayed in Scotland many, many times this is a first for me, being accused of attempted fraud. It is as well that my other stays have been very pleasant with excellent customer service or I might have come away with the impression this was the norm for Scotland. Shame on Equi B&B
