We loved how clean and well kept Cayo Retreat was. It has the most idyllic setting with perfectly maintained grass and excellent shower & toilet facilities. The views were incredible and it felt very exclusive with our own fire pit and bbq area. The dog and children played safely on the beautiful expanse of field and John couldn’t do enough for us to ensure our stay was comfortable. The Bell tents are the most luxury tents we have ever stayed in, these were spacious with super comfortable beds and lovely touches inside. The lull of the river nearby was the perfect addition to a relaxing and enjoyable weekend and the rope swing was a massive hit with the kids.

That we didn’t stay longer.

We liked the buss stop outside the door. The underground is in a walking distance, as well as a shopping centre. An arabic style cloth market is around the corner. A large park is on the other side of the street to the hotel. Our room was very clean. We have stayed twice earlier in that hotel before the pandemia and it was OK.

We had ordered a studio and paid 200€ per a night, and we stayed 7 nights. We did not like that they did not tell us in advance that we will get an invalide studio and huge empty toilet, when we had chosen a normal studio together with a normal dusch and toilet. We had stayed there earlier twice and all were OK. For sure this time was the last there. The breakfast at the hotel was 20 euros per person/a day and we stayed 7 nights. A breakfast for 2 persons would have been 280€ more per a week. That money were enought for a good lunch every day. Instead the hotel breakfast we bought croissants with a pulver coffee. This was our first time in an invalide room and toilet which was large and empty, usefull if you move on a roll-chair. Noe curtains aroud the shower, the water went everywhere, no pool under the dusch and a very thin pot to wash hands. There was not possible to wash underwear, as at least ladies used to do if they stay a week. So we had to buy a few underwear more. We asked an extra bowl for washing some underwear, but "they had not", according to the reception. The personnel at the reception were not too service-minded. When taking a shower without any plastic curtain around the shower, all the large floor was full of water. There was only a narrow hole under the dusch for water run away, and taking a shower put the water run all over the empty floor towards the room not to the hole under the dusch. We got help of some very polite mens of the personal to push the water back to the hole, because we had no tools to push the water back, and they had. In the kind of kitchen there was a water cooker. There where also electric plates to cook, but no metal pots or frying pans to fry or cook anything. Maybe invalides are not cooking themselvers, but we would have boiled some eggs if there would be a pot for cooking. That kitchen was not too useful.

Wonderful quiet setting with view across the sea back to the Scottish mainland. Spacious accommodation and nice touch with the bottle of wine on our arrival.

Great location, good facilities, fun shepherds hut with very cool painted ceilings in the middle of the woods, just bird song & sheep
Negative section of review
We hired a shepherds hut for ourselves & the tree top yurt for our teenage sons & my only criticism was the yurt felt a little unkept, mould in the fridge, dust in the drawers.

The apartment was spacious with a well-equipped kitchen. The bathroom was large with a good shower. The hosts were friendly and helpful.
Negative section of review
The apartment is on the ground floor, with access straight off the street, through frosted glazed doors. Soundproofing generally could be better. Bedroom furniture could be improved.

location for brands hatch track is perfect, room was modern and comfortable with a good shower breakfast was available and ample parking
Negative section of review
hotel needs a really good clean as many aspects of the decor were old/worn out and dirty, room windows were filthy and £4.50 for a glass of draft lemonade at the bar is extortionate

Room had the view to die for, top floor looking out to Arran. Meals were great. Breakfast freshly made, lunch and dinner were superb.
Negative section of review
Room was a little dated but very comfortable. Realise new owners need time to get things done their way.

The staff were very helpful! The location in connection to the sea and to the pier is excellent!

The additional breakfast was weird. Not tasty and not balanced.

Property was in a good location.

There was a cockroach in my room!! It woke me up at 2am or so and I was so grossed out I could not get back to sleep. I informed staff and was told a manager would be in contact with me, for 3 days, and have not heard from them. Terrible customer service and clearly terribly cleaning standards!!
