The Granery was lovely. We were booked into a B&B room but Amanda offered us a cottage. It was such a great spot for us to catch up on quality sleep, it's quiet and very comfortable, as well as having blockout blinds. ♥️ Modern facilities in bathroom and well equipped kitchen We also had the opportunity to make our own breakfasts and dinners, we have been travelling for a month and just wanted a simple salad and steak. Loved seeing the friendly horses and donkeys. It was also a great location to explore York city, North Yorkshire NP and the Yorkshire Dale's NP.

Felt a little like I didn't belong, receptionist next to us was very helpful and kind however our receptionist when checking in didn't ask any of the questions the other person did "would you like 1 or 2 keys? Can I get you anything else? " things like that. We just got pointed to the elevator and felt kind of judged. But the other receptionist when we left the hotel was very kind and nice.

It was disgustingly filthy. We expected it to be tired but it was so far beyond that. The kitchen floor was covered in food, there was food stuck to walls and doors, and the dish brush for the sink was filthy. The toilets had urine splashes over the backs, and faeces stuck to the bowls. Only 1 shower right at the top of the house worked, it was really mouldy and wouldn't drain away so was flooding the floor. Due to this, we had to clean out the drain trap, which was full of hair and god knows what else (see photo). Several beds had obviously been slept in, with stains and hair in them. There were remnants of tobacco and cannabis on the bedside tables, and stains on all the furniture and up the bedroom walls. We had to spend 2 hours cleaning on arrival to make it in any way habitable, and luckily found spare linen so we could change the beds. When we did so, we found a completely soiled mattress underneath. We are not prim and proper, but it was truly gross! I contacted passtheproperty as advised, and sent pics. We were given an apology and told a cleaner would come, but they didn't.

We couldn’t get the heaters in the lounge to work properly despite following instructions. It was chilly in the evenings. I emailed air manage Suffolk for help with the issue, as stated in the brochure, but got no reply.
