Very friendly and welcoming host who made extra effort to prepare a vegan breakfast for us. The homemade bread is delicious. Breakfast is continental served to your bedroom door with a chair and table to eat from in the room. Bailey the dog is a star too, he barks but is very friendly and loves a stroke. Room has great views from roof window across the beach and sands. En suite shower room is excellent with modern fittings. Easy to find the property and acres of space to park. Good TV with multiple channels. It’s a beautifully quiet area with just the playful bleating of lambs and bird song to hear.

The upstairs room has sloping ceilings and we bumped our heads quite a few times. If you’re tall then book the ground floor room which has more headspace 😊

The location was good for us as we were visiting a friend in the area. We particularly liked the layout of the rooms surrounding the courtyard it was very tranquil. The staff were so obliging and made us very welcome. We ate in the pub and enjoyed it very much. The parking was good also. On the whole we had a very enjoyable stay and will return again.

Generally well equipped apartment - all the beds were comfy (although the person who used the sofa bed found that one less so). Very clean and well located with a 15 minute walk into the centre. Easy access to get keys etc. Owner was helpful when there was a problem with linen.

Most of these are minor issues, and are suggested as improvements. The family bathroom could be fitted with a grab rail to help with access in/out of the shower. Some crockery/glasses appeared to be missing (maybe through breakages not being replaced?). For example, it's advertised as sleeping 6 people, but there were not enough wine glasses for 6. I'd suggest that it's time for a review of what's there. The flooring, especially in the hallway and the bedroom with the ensuite, is quite creaky, and this could do with being sorted out for the sake of those sharing, and I suspect, the neighbours below!. On arrival, we found that there was no linen for the sofa bed in the living room. Once I contacted the owner, however, this was supplied quickly on the first evening of the stay. It would be helpful to have more than one set of keys - there were four of us and only having a single set meant we generally all had to go in and out together.

We had a fantastic time at Black Lion and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The rooms were clean and spacious and the bed was very comfy. It was great to be able to come down straight into a pub, the vibe is really relaxed and prices very reasonable!
