The breakfast was the most disappointing experience of our stay. We waited one and one-half hours for breakfast, there was one wait staff that had only been there for three days, she was doing her best, very polite, but she was overwhelmed. The food was so bad I couldn’t eat it, and it was of very poor quality. If you served toasted bagels, cream cheese, fresh fruit, English muffins, cereal and muffins and pastries, you wouldn’t need wait staff, you could have it Buffett style. Go to the Camden Inn for some ideas! Best breakfast I’ve had at a hotel!! I would choose to stay at another hotel because the breakfast was so bad. I mean really bad.

Portland is a walkable city. Too many wonderful restaurants for one trip!
My favorites from this trip: Fore Street Restaurant, Honey Paw, and Jing Yan. My husband loved Bar Futo and the bar at Via Vecchia.

We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine.
We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine. We usually stop at the Kittery Trading Post along our drive. In Portland we like to take in historical homes and sites like the Victorian Mansion or the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow home. There are lots of restaurants and pubs in the waterfront area. One of our favorites is the Ri' Ra' where I typically enjoy a Guinness with the fish and chips.

My work in Portland shows me a diverse striving community that is trying to care for its citizens. That diversity is revealed through exploring the shops underneath and around the "Hopeful" sculpture/sign on Forest Ave.

Best seafood ever.
Best seafood ever. Very nice restaurants and bars and excellent, friendly service in all places. Nice little interior or similar shops. Some more or less interesting galleries, interesting Arts Museum. But two full days are enough for visiting downtown Portland.
Lovely hiking trails at about 30 minutes from the town.
The Location can't be beat! It's in the center of popular venues (Cross center, Aura, etc.)and Old Port shopping and Pubs. The fridge and microwave were "newish". The price was in line with other Portland lodging. The garage is actually adjacent to the hotel so very easy to access and you can go in and out all you want for only a $10 a day charge.
The room was quiet, private, and clean. We loved the coffee bar/fridge area with the complimentary coffee, utensils, and cups. The bathroom was amazing - heated floors, large vanity/mirror, beautiful shower. And a deal compared to some of the hotels closer to Old Port just down the road. Finding on street parking was never an issue for us.
The price was reasonable for Portland. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Despite being located out of town, its proximity to the transportation center made it ideal for those using train or bus services, especially the very cheap bus service to central Portland. The gym and pool were OK and very quiet/ barely used.
Perfect location. Was able to walk to the show at the state theatre. Good price. Continental breakfast was OK. I've had better but it was still decent. Construction kept me up in the morning but not the hotels fault.
This is my favorite hostel I have ever used. Cheery, obliging staff, quirky decor, convenient and immaculate bathrooms, sensible method for secure late-night entry; short walk from downtown and from the waterfront.
Very friendly and welcoming. Lovely room. Great amenities. On-site restaurant outstanding. Easy on-site parking. Great base for exploring. Old Port 15minutes walk. Cape Elizabeth lighthouse 10 minutes drive.
Very nice hotel right downtown in the historic port area. Great for walking around downtown Portland. Notably comfortable beds to sleep in and plenty of outlets for charging your devices.
This is a great location in Portland, and we were able to walk or bike from the hotel without issue. The neighbourhood was great, people were friendly and it felt very safe.
Nicely situated modern hotel within the old port district. Comfortable large room with great bedding. Welcoming reception staff and pleasant staff throughout.
Location was excellent...just a short walk to waterfront, shops, and great restaurants. I recommend the audio self guided walking tour of historic portland.
