City center is great and there are a lot of things to see and visit. The center does not require any transportation, everywhere is close by walking. Auschwitz Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine are highly recommended. A tour for those would be much better because they are far from the city and it takes a long time to complete both in same day. Historical city with an amazing city center surrounded by a park. Full of restaurants, coffee-shops and boutiques. Good food, even in the city center (Wesele - very good restaurant). Many historical sites, but also modern nice views. What I did'n like was the organisation from the Wawel Royal Castle. We stayed for 4 nights .(mid August) The old town was very pretty , the walk to Wawel castle and strolling along the Wistula river banks was very enjoyable. Many restaurant, cafe and bar options. Extrtemely easy to find your way around and very use friendly and cheap public transport (0,90 euros/journey). Krakow is a beautiful city with a lot places to visit: Main Square, Cloth Hall, Wawel Castle, Kazimierz-Jewish Quarters, etc so make sure that you stay here for at least 5 days. A lot of nice restaurants and pubs with lovely food!
