This was our third stay at Pullman during a 16 day trip to France. We took side trips outside of Paris and came back to Paris several times. Each time rebooked at the Pullman Tour Eiffel. We enjoyed sitting at the outside patio bar with the Eiffel Tower right there in full view, with its lights sparkling each night. Also it was close enough to walk to and so was the riverfront where our river boat cruise left from. The are around Pullman felt very safe too. I picked it originally because it was where the bus trip to Normandy left from. The staff were all great! Rooms clean.

Our tips based on August 2025 tip for a summer visit:

Our tips based on August 2025 tip for a summer visit: Have a picnic. There are so many parks which are both beautiful and well set up for family picnics. There are lots of mini supermarkets around the city which offer food and wine at reasonable prices ( wine less then 5 euro bottle, lovely breads, chesses and hams. ). If you are on a budget, ignore the cafes and just camp out at Champ de Mars, Jardin de Tuileries, Jardin de Champs Elysees or just along the Seine. Also a hop on hop off bus trip on day one of your visit is a good idea, prior to spending more time on your favourite places on subsequent places. And visit the Eiffel tower at night, especially see the 'on the hour' sparkle show! Even if you do not go up the tower just sit back and watch. The area around the Tower was much busier at night than the day, a real family event for many. One negative: one of our party suffered serious bug bites, over 50, which resulted in serious scarring, but we are not sure where from. Two of our party suffered nothing. There are no obvious big insects flying around, but allegedly some tiny insects can cause issues. But if you have suffered in the past from insect bites then take some suitable precautions.

Paris is a family city for me and thus special, even though my relatives have my now all passed away. The renovated Notre Dame cathedral blew us away. Of course, outside, on the side, and parts of the roof more work continues. Which just shows that Paris and thus France, really value it. At times there were toooooo many tourists, but in August that has to be expected. If you want to go into a museum, event, any inside viewing you need to book in advance online. Even for the Notre Dame cathedral. The public transport is really super. The cheapest way round ist a "Navigo Découverte Travel Card" which is for a week. You require a printed passport photo.

We walked a lot rather than use the metropolitan, but thats because we enjoy walking! We walked to the Eiffel Tower which was lovely, but very busy! If you are looking for exceptional views over Paris, visit the Arc de Triomphe instead. Much shorter queues (perfect with an 8 year old!) but fab views from the top! We also did a river trip on the Sunday morning but rather than going for a full cruise, we used the Batobus, which has many stops along the river. You can stay on and do the whole loop along the river which takes just under 2 hours, or you can hop on and off as much as you like in a 24hour period. We ate in a few cafes whilst in Paris, and we didn't have a bad meal at any of them. Service was brilliant and staff were polite and helpful. We used taxis and Ubers a few times too and didn't feel ripped off. Obviously, the locals know the roads well and its nice to have a tour around!

We spent a week in Paris, Each day was busy without feeling we were rushed. With good planning and lots of pre-booking we were able to fit in most of what the tourists come to Paris to see including: Hop on/Hop off Bus Eiffel Tower Arc de Triumph Catcombs Louvre Palais of Versailles Moulin Rouge Disneyland Paris Notre Dame Cathedral Australian War Memorial - Villiers Brettaneax Not a cheap trip by any measure. First time to Paris. It was better than expected.

First time to Paris. It was better than expected. We had no problem with the language(most people speak English). It was pretty easy to get around and walkable. Cafes are amazing. Saw Eiffel Tower, The Louvre. Have lunch at the Louvre in one of the restaurants on site. Delish and outstanding views. Go to the summit of the Eiffel Tower. The Seine River Cruise was a nice way to relax. My 16 year old daughter loved the Catacombs if you want some unusual history and a break from museums. Versailles was worth seeing, but it would be a one time thing for me. We took a tour and hopped on the train. Easy ride there. We did a tour to the Loire Valley to see some amazing castles. The town of Amboise is super cute. We took the stairs to the top of the Arc De Triomphe at night to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle. That was worth it if you can climb the stairs. We saw the Moulin Rouge show-also worth it and hired a photographer to do some pics near the Eiffel Tower. We used The Tour Guy for all of our tours (which was helpful). Montmartre is so beautiful also. I would stay there again.

For this price level, the hotel is absolutely great. If you are looking for one of the cheapest hotels in this area and have 5-star expectations, then maybe it is better not to travel to Paris at all—or go to Le Ritz. I had a wonderful room in the attic, with a very Parisian vibe. The room was clean, the bed was big, and the bathroom was renovated—small but functional. The neighborhood is great. It is far from being a 5-star hotel, but so is your budget, apparently...

The staff was very nice and helpful with every need. The room was good, it had a large bed and a big shower. Overall I had a very good experience and felt that the price was relatively low (considering the fact that Paris is not a cheap place). I booked it for its proximity to Gare de Lyon, expecting a cheap tacky hotel. Hotel Riesner was wonderful! Delightful staff on check in, very clean modern room and bathroom, and the most comfortable bed in our three months of travel in France. A great breakfast, provided at 6.30 a.m. because we were leaving early. Wish we could have stayed longer!

This is a budget hotel right next to the Gare De Nord in Paris. The hotel was safe and secure. The room was clean. The bed was comfy. The ensuite shower was hot. Late arrival and early departure were no problem. An ideal cheap transit accommodation. If you want frills - pay 3 times the price at the Ibis next door.
