I had arrived at my booked accommodation - at 10.48 - booked through Booking.com but the hosts KeySafe wouldn’t allow me to gain the keys - and hence access - the Night Watchman here was amazing and so helpful at 1.45am

To be honest, we made Shrewsbury a stop off point as we travelled to Wales for a weeks cottage holiday. We stopped on the 'way down' and on the 'way back', to break up long journeys.
However, from our two half days in Shrewsbury it looks like a place for longer stays. The museum and art gallery were very interesting. The shopping areas were very good, with a good mix of larger names (M&S, Sea Salt, White Stuff ...) and independents. There were many eating places, but obviously we weren't able to make use of all but two in the town, both of which were very good.
It looks like a place we will return to!

Shrewsbury is a great town to visit which we do several times a year. Summer time is definitely worth a visit but we go all year round and always enjoy ourselves. Full of history, quirky hotels, bars and restaurants and great for shopping. Umai restaurant is outstanding for us food always delicious. A trip on the river boat highly recommended. Several places to park all within a short distance of the centre.

The town is packed full of historic beautiful biuldings Riverside walk is an absolute must... Town centre to Castlefields especially. The Abbey, castle , and lots of one off shops. Hidden in nooks and crannies are such delights as the old post office the old prison and boutiques.
Don't miss The Dingle gardens as you take the walk.

An absolute surprise - we spent all day just walking round Shrewsbury and being delighted by what we found - including the Market Hall which is something we don't see many of in the south of England.

This was our second time in Shrewsbury and still lots to see and do. The prison is a must to visit and is well worth the entrance fee, especially is you do the self guided tour. The majority of the pubs and independant shops are dog friebdly, which is a huge bonus if your four legged friend is with you. The blitz hill museum in Ironbridge is worth a visit. We paid £26.50 each entrance fee but it was well worth the money and ypu could spend all day there looking at and interacting with the exhibits. There are some oldy worldy little streets to walk down and a walk along the river is a must. The darwin trail is well worth doing, very interesting and comoletely free
The location was great (10mins walk into Shrewsbury Town centre). Parking wasn't a problem and Louise was lovely and welcoming. This was my second stay in less than a month.
The rooms are small but extremely comfortable and clean. The breakfast is lovely and freshly made cake is offered on arrival.
It's not your modern hotel style rooms (nor should it be as this is a characterful home) but if you enjoy a more personal touch I would recommend this b&b.
Accessible location on the ring road of Shrewsbury. The room was spacious and clean: good for a 2 night stay for a father and child. Although nothing special, breakfast provided all that one needs (english breakfast, pastries, fruit, yoghurt and cereals, coffee machine). Great that the hotel gets EV charging facilities on the parking.
A beautiful apartment, fully equipped, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. Also the owner has paid a lot of attention to detail. There was a very thoughtful welcome pack waiting for us 💓 many thanks. If anyone is going to visit Shrewsbury and needing accommodations, no need to look further.
This hotel is very charming and in a great historic area. The public spaces are beautiful in an antique style. Many famous people have stayed here during the hotel's long history. The rooms and upstairs are a little tired but very comfortable.
Had a wonderful stay at the Mercure Shrewsbury Albrighton Hall Hotel, we had fab views, comfortable room, and weather, and it was good to sit outside with a drink, staff friendly, and always helpful if you needed.
We went to Shrewsbury for an overnight break. It is lovely town with loads of character. We stayed in Wetherspoons hotel which is ideal to see the town. The room was clean, large enough for us and comfortable.
We’ve stayed here several times since opening and enjoy the river location, close proximity to Shrewsbury and hotel decor. The one continuous let down is the restaurant food and restaurant service.
The room was like a small suite with everything we needed. All our meals were well cooked and excellently presented. The staff were really helpful. The hotel was set in beautiful grounds.
The place is well located in the middle of town, next to the prison Museum and Shrewsbury train station. Walking distance to town center. The apartment is clean and with many amenities.
A lovely room with plenty of space. Great breakfast. Parking is a 5 minute walk from the hotel (and chargeable) and Shrewsbury is a maze of one way streets - but easy enough.
Lovely old building, fantastic location in the centre of Shrewsbury. The breakfast is excellent. Staff are excellent - friendly, polite and welcoming. A credit to
the hotel.
Breakfast was very good and the setting is lovely. We ate in the restaurant which was very nice and welcome as the hotel itself is quite a way out of Shrewsbury.
