Gorgeous. Very clean. Provide drinking water.
Emperor suite was the best but I liked the other simpler room too. Comfy beds. Shower is cold but all in this area seem this way. Elevator is very handy, many places you have to walk up four floors with your luggage. Cozy and lovely. Far from bus station but right on Quinta ave. Free brekkie is great in an adjacent Italian place. They also give you a thirty percent discount card for this restaurant.

At the centre of the Mayan Riveria is Playa del Carmen, a playground for hip Europeans and toned-and-tanned Americans. This resort town showcases the renowned white-sand beaches of the Caribbean Coast along the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
Playa del Carmen's powdery white sands are nestled between Cancun to its north, Tulum in the south and the island of Cozumel, 20 km east with its fantastic diving in the nearby Great Maya Reef. Awake from an afternoon nap to take a dip, go snorkelling or deep-sea fishing in the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Playa is an easy choice as a holiday destination with its range of hotels, many first-class restaurants and beachside nightclubs. Quinta Avienda, also known as 5th Avenue, is the main tourist hub and shopping district. For a more authentic Mexico experience, venture outside of the centre to a local cenote (sinkhole) or Mayan ruins in Tulum.
Cruise ships dock in nearby Cozumel and traffic people to the mainland arriving at the Playa del Carmen Maritime Terminal. If the glimmering Caribbean waters are full, then Booking.com has a huge number of hotels with an outdoor swimming pool by the beach.
I have been a here a couple of times now. Be aware, it is always HOT HOT HOT and humid. I like that, but you should know that.
5th Ave (Quinta Avenida) is an experience. About 2 miles of shops selling anything and everything. Lots of restaurants and bars, but the best experiences are off of that road on the other nearby streets and for much fewer pesos!
Dentistry is big here and the dentists are world class. It is often much less to fly to Cancun, bus it to PDC, rent a nice hotel for a week and have whatever procedure that you need completed in PDC than it is to have it done in the USA even with good insurance.

If you're into parties and entertainment, Playa del Carmen...
If you're into parties and entertainment, Playa del Carmen is perfect and has everything you could want- Food, music, art, souvenir shops, nighclubs, restaurants and cafes. We prefer quiet and peaceful beach vibes, so we're happy we rented our own vehicle and got out of central.
There are so many hidden beaches, cenotes and sights to explore. We stayed at a condo hotel right in middle of town. It was a nice quiet oasis, right on beach and perfect for our large group and central to everything!

Such a variety of eating places but you have to be careful when paying the bill, inevitably it’s more than you originally thought. When getting ferry tickets only get them from the main ticket office, people that come up to you asking if you want ferry they are rip off people.

This is a nice place to visit, it was pretty clean and lots of space to choose from when in near the beach.
AVOID booking tours and private tourist guide people as you really dont need them. If you have internet connection you can easily do everything on your own. Be aware of too many vendors EVERYWHERE so even though it felt safe but always keep an extra sense of alert at all time. Do not go for tequila tasting/testing as you gonna have to pay after NOTHING WILL BE FREE. heat is horrible so drink lots of water and keep hydrated, there are banks on the main street/5th ave in case you need to exchange some USA dollars in Mexican pesos.
in general it was a great experience. DO NOT TAKE ANY TOUR TO GO TO THE MAYAN RUINS, SPECIALLY CHICHEN ITZA, You'll be better off renting a car and go on your own as its way cheaper and you'll save money and time ...once you go to CHICHEN ITZA do not stop and follow of any of the many stops retain that you'll see on your way to the main entrance of the ruins as those ones are only trying to sell the tours and the guide tourist persons to you and honestly there is not need to spend money on that. There are lots of Cenotes all around , if you rent a car it will be easy to visit many of them.

We love Playa del Carmen!
We love Playa del Carmen!
Its beautiful, safe, beaches are clean with blue waters, tons of flora everywhere, and close to Cancun, right in the middle way from going to Cancun up North or going to Tulum down south. Playa del Carmen is great, lots of shopping opportunities and restaurants too.

It is amazing place, hotel located in tropical forest jungle, every day you can see koaties, aygumis, monkey, iguana. Staff is very polite and friendly. Food at buffet and restaurants very fresh and tasty. Beach is clean, big, water is Turquoise. Animation team does great work for aquagym, zumba, girls at mini club are kind and good to every child. It was really great choice and one of the best family holidays.
This was the best stay we’ve had in Mexico yet! The rooms were magical and soooo comfortable! The beds were amazing and the TV had Netflix. The balcony had a hammock. We were right on the beachfront and close to all the shops, clubs and restaurants. Honestly could live in this hotel. The staff were incredible, helpful and so friendly. They spoke good English. The breakfast included was delicious and filling!
Cas'Arte was the perfect hotel for our stay over at Playa del Carmen. Nice facilities, easy to park our car, quiet during the night, and still super close to the centre and great breakfast places like Choux Choux Café. Above all, it was the owner and host Fabri who made it an exceptional experience. Fabri took intensively care of us, helping us with whatever question we had, he is extraordinary :-)
An excellent hotel very well located in downtown Playa del Carmen. The rooms are very spacious and very well decorated. The beds are very good and the housekeeping is well done. The "all inclusive" formula is very advantageous. All meals (breakfasts, lunches and dinners) are of very good quality and even refined. The Mexican and Asian restaurants are recommended.
We love this place, we returned after a few days when we came back to Playa del Carmen. Last time my only complaint were the curtains, but this time (coincidence or not, I don't know) we got black out curtains. The room was dark and the sleep was amazing. Really recommend this hotel.
