My 4th time in NYC, and every time it steals my heart.

My 4th time in NYC, and every time it steals my heart. We went to Broadway theater, and it was truly amazing. We also had picnic at central park, and visited a bunch of city landmarks. It is pricy, but I highly recommend to come here at least once a year if you can.

We walked a lot so we didn't think we would need the unlimited ride subway weekly card, and bought the cards and added $10 each and quickly had to reload. It would have been best to spend the extra money and get the unlimited 7 day pass. Traveling by subway was quick and easy depending on location, however make sure to map out the lines and where they stop and where they don't run at night.

Our trip was part two of our vacation: we spent a few days with some friends on Long Island at their home and then spent two days in NYC. WE had some plans made (one show booked for a matinee) and had ideas of what we wanted to do and see, but as we have been to NYC before we decided to just take it as it came. Once we were settled in our hotel room we were out walking the City and taking in the NYC sites. No matter what you passion NYC has things to see and do. The Hotel was located perfectly for our trip-in the Theatre District. We did not have the night views of Times Square (our window faced W48th Street) but we also did not have the constant traffic of that area either. We mostly walked the City staying between 7th and 8th Avenues and walking from Midtown up to Lincoln Center. NYC is easy to navigate and most every map app will have listings for food and entertainment. We took a bus tour of Uptown and went to the Museum of Broadway as well as saw two shows and enjoyed eateries we don't have around us at home.

The worst was a cab ride to Penn Station.

The worst was a cab ride to Penn Station. It was a $50 fare to travel 20 streets down 9th due to traffic jams at every intersection. The cabbie should have known that a better option was further west, and the heat. But for the most part, we enjoy a trip to NYC.

New York is a city everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. However, we visited in late July, and the weather was extremely hot. If possible, I’d recommend visiting in the spring instead. Be prepared to walk a lot if you want to see everything. We really enjoyed the tour to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. On the other hand, the hop-on hop-off bus wasn’t a great experience in the summer due to heavy traffic and the heat.

Midtown of Manhattan, center of New York so very easy to get to either downtown (one world trade building, Wall Street, china town) or uptown (Empire State building, Times Square, Central Park). And of course subways or restaurants are at every corner. Very nice and friendly staff. The street is full of flowers and plants business so it is very clean and fresh. It is really the highlight of this hotel. Parking for free (not at the same street) but the hotel will cover it. Quiet compare with the other surrounding streets.
