Wonderful, World Heritage site Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.
Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.
Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the Avon River overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-level Pulteney Weir and registered historic Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options include Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and brand-name stores on Milsom and George streets.
North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.
Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath hotel, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

We were so lucky that the sun came out and we walked everywhere. The city is pretty and enjoyable from and to every corner, filled with history and ancient sites, new things to learn and discover.
There are many places for food and drinks but it depends on what you want to do: as there are many parks and green areas you can also opt for buying a few things in a supermarket and then lay down on the grass with your company!
It is pretty easy to go around the city and there are many places where information could be asked if needed.
We did not have much time this time, but... Next time I definitely would love to enter the Roman Baths, which are always very busy to even book in advance, especially during May-June.

Enjoyed walking Bath.
Enjoyed walking Bath. Lot of sights near each other so easy to do in a timely manner. But after a full sight seeing day, not much left to see or do if you do not shop. Definite visit but can be done in one full day.

Fantastic city, enjoyed every single moment there.
Fantastic city, enjoyed every single moment there. Architecture, history, shops/ restaurants. Please visit Thermae Spa, where you can swim on the roof in any season as water is naturally hot since ancient time.
The Boathouse had the best guest room I have ever stayed at. It was spotlessly clean, the bed was so comfortable and the decor was quirky and fun. Having the balcony looking out over the river gave us a great space to get fresh air and enjoy the view.
The pub and restaurant carried on with the quirky decor and made for a relaxing area to sit and eat. A big shout out to the staff, especially Chloe, who made our stay really special.
Having the park and ride next door was great as it made getting in and out of Bath city centre really easy.
This hotel is sighted on a hill just under a mile from Bath city centre within pleasant and well maintained grounds. An easy walk to town or £6 taxi ride. The rooms are quite large with en-suite bath/ shower. Very courteous and helpful staff. Dining room manager exceptional. Breakfast of a high quality every day. Had dinner once and it was very good. Spa facilities clean and spacious. Indoor pool 15m long. Outdoor pool a spa pool and warm. Parking on site. Fridge in room. Relaxing all round.
Location: five minutes from the Roman Baths, across the street from the train station. Amenities: big, clean room with big windows--lots of light. Food: attached restaurant with excellent breakfast and great dinner menu. Staff: friendly, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable. Parking: two-level car park just up the street, plus hotel's own park. Weather: don't know how they managed this, forecast was for rain but we had sunny skies and warm temperatures the whole time. Now that's service!
it was perfectly situated in the city centre, yet quiet. I had a room with a window, but didn’t feel overlooked in any way.
The space is incredibly well used and perfect for a solo traveller and the shower is fantastic - especially when you factor in Bath’s water, which makes your skin feel incredible!
The bed was so comfortable and I slept so, so well.
The staff at the front desk are so welcoming and clearly care about you having the best stay possible, both at the hotel and in the city.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to be welcoming. Hotel is perfectly situated to all the major sights. The Royal Bath Theatre is right across the street! I have mobility issues and tire easily, I had no issues being able to visit a site then rest then go back out again! I had a room without any windows, which I knew when I booked it. I didn’t miss it as the air conditioning was amazing. Coolest room I’ve had yet in the UK.
Lovley attentive staff very clean perfect location. Would definitely stay again highly recommended comfortable bed beautiful room bathroom immaculate...overall very bight light hotel lovley reception area with a very homley feel .....Breakfast was very good a vegetarian option would be good & Bacon for those who like it also going back to the bathroom shower amazing after a long walk around Bath sight seeing very good size ......
The hotel had great ambiance, was stylishly decorated and spacious with a high ceiling. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed. My husband and I had breakfast, dinner and drinks downstairs at the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the dishes (I especially loved the lamb belly and sourdough with whipped feta). Perfect for couples who need a good feed and a little getaway in Bath. 10/10
We had an amazing weekend in Bath and The Dukes hotel was excellent . Our room was beautiful and spacious and very clean. The hotel was in a prefect location, only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Bath, but far enough away for a peaceful nights sleep. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be returning to this hotel again in the future.
The location was perfect. Not too far from the city centre but far enough that it wasn't too loud. The room was extremely clean which we were very happy about. The room space was nice, bed was extremely comfy, easy check in, bathroom/shower was modern and easy to use and it was very quiet in the mornings - most hotels we get woken up early by other guests
The Tyndall Villa Boutique B&B is a lovely place to stay. We really liked the room we had, which was beautifully decorated and spacious. The bed was really comfortable too. The staff were lovely. The breakfast was really nice. Bath city centre is located within a 15-minute walk from the B&B. I would definitely book to come back here again. Thank you.
We took the best room in the hotel because I concluded that from the window you could see Bath Abbey. The room was spacious, the bed was excellent, we had eggs benedict for breakfast, and all the questions we had were answered by the very friendly receptionist with glasses. Fantastic hotel and not too expensive. I recommend it to anyone.
The uniqueness, comfort and location of this hotel can’t be best! All the extra amenities , like a nightlight in the bathroom, complimentary items in the frig, huge bath towels, etc. were just so thoughtful. The staff and the hotel were going out of their way to ensure your stay was comfortable! The breakfast included was wonderful too!
The location is right in the middle of Bath within a short walk of the shops and tourist attractions. Parking is available underneath the hotel which was very convenient. The hotel decor was modern and our room was perfect for a family of four. Everything was clean and the staff very helpful.
Excellent, friendly welcome on arrival. Helpful and attentive.
Room was spacious, comfy and clean.
Breakfast was superb.
Location was ideal for the centre on Bath, with the provision of on-site parking being the main draw when compared to hotels in the city centre.
Near all the hustle and bustle of Bath the Francis Hotel is an oasis of calm and comfort. The staff were very helpful during our stay. We were celebrating our anniversary and the sent a card and an invitation to enjoy drinks at the bar. It was a nice touch!
This is a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Bath. The rooms are beautiful. The bonus is the baths in the hotel , right on the lower level . Breakfast was very good. The standout was the staff who were all extremely friendly and helpful.
Very boutique, beautifully appointed and decorated for a small space. The location was excellent, easy to walk to the main city centre and explore Bath. The basket breakfast was a delightful addition.
