We were thrilled first walking into the hotel front courtyard which looks better than its pictures and like stepping into a Platonic ideal of an old English building and scene. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The location is also very convenient. The room was clean and adequate rather than lavish, but we were very glad to have stayed here.

Great reception staff, everyone was really helpful. The location is amazing, it's very close to the famous Stonehenge. We had a leaking shower and the staff kindly refunded us some money for the inconvenience, which was really kind of them. The room was cozy and clean. Beds were comfortable.

The Cathedral is always a wonderful experience but a visit to Arundells - the home of Edward Heath - is an absolute must. Situated in the cathedral close, this interesting home and gardens, is made so enjoyable by the very knowledgable guides available to talk to in all of the rooms. Must rate as A** The National Trust house of Montpasson is also in Cathedral Close and again well worth a visit.

Because we didn't have a long of time our sightseeing was very short. We visited the cathedral which was amazing. We took a Punt trip and which amazingly started at the bottom of the garden. The hotel offer a courtesy bus to and from the town which worked really well. We really do recommend this hotel as perfect in every way, we will be back.

    The town is.

The town is. Very nice happy a sharp contrast to left behind northern towns . I saw happy faced happy people which Aldi made me feel happy. The streets Zthr buildings and the monument have been taken in good care. The cathedral the surrounding park and medieval and Tudor buildings are just jaw dropping. We stayed until mid afternoon because non of as wanted to harry back. My wife and my daughter referred to go back home to Manchester as we going back to England because the towns looked so different sng do prodperous in comparison to the run down neglected and said decayed north. You wee happy for being over there but said for the contrast here.

We enjoyed seeing the cathedral, beautiful architecture outside; we saw it first in the sunshine when the stonework seemed to glow. The next day was raining but inside the building was interesting, looking up to the high roof was wonderful. The volunteer guides were all very helpful in their knowledge. The cafe offered a good range of drinks and food for our refreshment. Mompesson House also was interesting and very close to the cathedral, where we learnt the history of the families who had owned the house. Getting around the city is quite easy as it's very compact; we travelled in by bus from our B&B and avoided having to find a car park. The bus service is very good, buses arrive on schedule. We ate at two restaurants - Prezzo and Cote Brasserie and found a varied menu, good service and tasty meals; there is a variety of coffee shops for quick snacks and drinks.

Very compact city, so pretty much everything in walking distance, and some real hidden gems if venturing away from the main square. Salisbury Cathedral is an inspiring place and houses one of just a very few original copies of the Magna Carta! Abundance of places to eat and drink, to suit all tastes, pleasant riverside walks and lots of shops. Sadly too many empty premises, as with most towns and cities nowadays. Grillado is an amazing, family run, Italian restaurant and the Pheasant pub, just away from the city centre, is a real gem.

Great location and friendly staff. The hotel also owns the pub which was about 20 yards around the corner, where breakfast is also served. The entrance to the railway station turnstiles was 3 minutes away on foot. It was a 5 to 10 minute walk into the city centre and similar to the Cathedral.

The hotel was in a great location, in the city centre. It was a beautiful old building which has been well maintained. I liked the decor and furnishings as they were in keeping with the age of building. The reception staff were very helpful and were able to advise about parking.
