FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-drenched & Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.

Using the train system is a cheap, convenient and easy way of getting around. Eateries are many, varied and good quality. Climate is wonderful - usually sunny and warm. People are friendly and welcoming unlike other major Australian cities. Beautiful areas such as Southbank, Parklands and the botanic gardens to chill out in. City seems real safe to just wander around in. The river is awesome...spending a day just cruising up on the cats. Great! Historical places to visit that are actually interesting!

We enjoyed walking through South Bank and across the Neville Bonner Bridge to Star Casino. We enjoyed going to the viewing platform at the casino and sitting watching the sunset. We enjoyed our walk through the city and seeing the new and old architecture. There are lots of restaurants and cafes. The train from the airport was easy to use and took us directly to South Brisbane Station. The bus took us directly from South Brisbane to the Gabba.

My favourite spots in Brisbane were South Bank and the CBD. We liked the fresh juice and smoothies at Queen Street. Getting around was very easy. We managed to travel to the Gold Coast with just 50 cents. We also took a ride on a City Cat, which was a fantastic experience.

Brisbane will host the 2032 Olympics and the City is upgrading its infrastructure to offer an outstanding experience for that event. One of the most exciting developing cities in the Southern Hemisphere at the moment with a unique vibe that is uniquely Queensland, the Sunshine State; friendly, "laid back" and welcoming. But don't wait for 2032, visit soon!

The apartments are in a very good location in the CBD of Brisbane. As we were checking in on a Tuesday afternoon it was easy enough to collect our room keys from reception. The apartment was a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms and a third separate toilet, a kitchenette and a laundrette. The size was very generous and we had 1 x queen bed and 2 x single beds which worked for our configuration of 3 adults. The rooms were clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable.
