Hotel in Shepperton
With a beautiful, peaceful location on the banks of the River Thames, this charming hotel faces out onto Church Square in the old historic village of Shepperton. Breakfast was a bit poor- the quality of the bread was not great and juice/milk was warm. Ice would be an awesome addition.

Weybridge is lovely and the Hand and Spear is a perfect country hotel retreat after a busy day. A main feature of Weybridge and the Hand and Spear which is next to the train station, is its proximity to London, making it a great choice for a visit to the capital without trying to sleep there amidst the terrible noise.
Having never been to weybridge before it was selected for location as we were planning to go to Sandown racecourse (5.7 miles) for a Classic American car show and also visit Brooklands Museum (2.3 miles) it was ideally located. Hotel is situated right on the high street close to shops and has secure (barrier controlled) free parking. There is a Morrisons very near by if you forget some essentials or need drinks or snacks. Weybridge has a diverse range of restaurants including Italian, Indian and Nepalise (Gherka). We ate at the Queens HEad pub and also at the hotel, both had very good food and a quiet atmosphere.
The location of the hotel was excellent, right on the doorstep of the Brooklands Museum and Track, as well as being handy for the M25 and main London airports. The room was very nice and quite big, the bathroom was very nice and everything was spotlessly clean. I thought it was quite expensive and felt that it was not great value for money, especially when it came to the breakfast. For a 4 star hotel, I was expecting an excellent breakfast, unfortunately this was not the case. The cooked breakfast, well, honestly, you could get the same in a Little Chef, only there it would be cooked fresh, here it wasn't! The food was kept in a heated glass compartment and don't know how long for, but my eggs were somewhat rubbery!! Overall, a really nice hotel, excellent customer service, but value for money it isn't.
We did visit Weybridge as a destination. We were visiting family in Esher and needed overnight accommodation. We will definitely stay at The Ship again as it is not too far from family and the Hotel was excellent.
Great place to stay, to recover from a long haul flight - lovely village with choice of cafes and restaurants within 3 minutes walk. The river is nearby too with the usual quaint English pubs and tow paths for a leisurely walk. Brooklands museum was a short drive away which is worth a visit for car, bus, plane enthusiasts.
Didn't really see much of it, as was really visiting Cobham for a soccer tournament. What I did see looked very nice, good location with lots to see and do and this hotel is well placed being right near the train station. The food at the Hand and Spear is really well thought out menu. I liked it very much.
