The location is first-rate; it is conveniently situated close to all historic sites. The room was immaculate and updated. We ate breakfast every day upstairs, and the choices were plentiful and excellent. The waitstaff were accommodating and friendly. The front desk staff were always professional. They helped me organize an excursion to Tuscany, made excellent dining suggestions, and general recommendations. I can’t wait to return!

Hotel Davanzati is on a side street in the historic center of Florence. It is within walking distance to the train station and very close to the Piazza della Signoria, Uffizi Gallery, and Ponte Vecchio, and therefore, the Arno river. It is next to a palace with the same name and situated in a historic building. We enjoyed our stay considerably, the breakfast, and the free offers in the afternoon into the evening. The staff is superb and they can direct you to excellent restaurants that the locals frequent. We highly recommend this place to those who would like to stay in the very center.

Florence is a beautiful city in the Tuscan landscape with beautiful culture, good food and delicious wine. The main attractions, such as the cathedral, the Uffizi Galleries, the Pitti Palace and the Galleria dell'Accademia show the culture of the Medici and the birth of the Italian Renaissance. It is advised to book in advance to avoid long queues. Besides these activities, the city is perfect for just wandering around and exploring the pretty streets with the palazzos, delicious restaurants and lots of shops for souvenirs, clothing, and the iconic Florence leather bags.

It's overun by tourist and the locals charge for it.

It's overun by tourist and the locals charge for it. It's a tourist trap. Stay way outside if you have to and walk in to see the art. Forget these - what to see in 3 days things. There is so much to see you cant fit it in in 3 days. Just to see the uffizi you need 1 full day. That's alot of standing on your feet. Also these galleries are old; what I mean is that they are not adjusted to the current new world - so its all phones in the air, people rushing about taking pictures without thought of what they are looking at. The lighting is outdated - what I'm saying is that you need to plan. The city center is unesco - its cobbled and wonky - it kills your joints. Plan. The artwork is obviously amazing; but read up a bit before. Split your days accordingly. Maybe try to do less and you will end up doing more or at least you will get more for your money. Bottom line - forget staying in the city center. Plan your trip - by doing research on what to see. Enjoy it more.

Florence is a breathtaking city where history, art, and architecture meet at every corner. From the grandeur of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Brunelleschi’s dome to the charm of the Ponte Vecchio and lively piazzas, the city feels like an open-air museum. It’s easy to explore on foot, with countless cafés, boutiques, and gelaterias tucked into the narrow streets. I was also pleasantly surprised by the wide range of gluten-free food options available throughout the city, which made dining out stress-free and enjoyable. Florence is busy and vibrant, but still manages to feel intimate and welcoming — a must-visit for anyone who loves culture, history, and beauty.

    Florence was wonderful.

Florence was wonderful. A breath taking view at every turn of a street. Lovely restaurants, shops etc. and felt super safe walking around at any time of night with my daughter. We did a pasta and tiramisu cookery class with unlimited wine - it was great fun and well worth booking. We travelled by train from Pisa, and the public transport is fantastic. Will do a lot more train travel when we go back. Loved it.

The history and museums were terrific.

The history and museums were terrific. Like stepping back in time. Great food and restaurants. Really upbeat buzz around the centre of the city. Pretty clean and safe. Everything is in walking distance. Driving is confusing and not recommended. Train station is well set out and serviced by 2 high speed services. Leather shopping is pretty intense and you need to pick carefully but you can get good quality at reasonable prices if you research properly. The Duomo dome climb is highly recommended as is the acadamie if only for David and the Uffizi for the Botecellis and rembrandts etc.

This was one of the most comfortable hotels I stayed at on my trip to Italy. The hotel room was very spacious and bright, everything was clean and tidy, and the surroundings were very quiet. The location of the hotel was also very convenient, a few minutes walk to all the attractions I wanted to visit. There are many gourmet restaurants and convenient supermarkets near the hotel. We were especially surprised by the Asian market nearby.I would recommend this hotel to all my friends who want to travel to Florence.

This is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Italy. The staff were incredibly polite, attentive, and always willing to help — even after I had already checked out. The room was spotless, beautifully renovated, and offered a perfect blend of comfort and style. The location is exceptional, within walking distance of everything Florence has to offer. And the rooftop pool with its breathtaking panoramic view over the entire city was simply unforgettable. A truly outstanding experience from start to finish!
