United StatesSo! This location is about an hour away from Tokyo. For me, not a bad thing at all. I prefer long train rides to a nice and quiet place to relax and this hotel is exactly that. The hotel is basically right on top of the Minami-tama Station. The Station is also equipped with a supermarket for picking up some food on the cheap. Seven Eleven is at the corner (living up to it's corner store reputation lol) so if you want to exchange currency, try using Seven Bank ATM, the rates are pretty good.
Now let's chat about the hotel. I was greeted by a wonderful clerk who let me practice my broken Japanese with her. She was very friendly and personable with a million dollar smile. I felt incredibly welcomed and it was also cool she was left handed like me haha. You will need your keycard to use the elevator from the lobby so do not forget to take it with you or you can't go back up. In the hotel lobby, there are lots of amenities for you to use in case you forgot something. The free breakfast is next level delicious but very Japanese style. No pancakes or waffles y'all
My room was great! You will have to insert your keycard into the slot on the wall next to the door to power the room. No keycard, no power. There were lots of amenities in the room as well. A hot water kettle, Hair dryer, TV! I even got to watch some sumo early in the morning. The air conditioner/heater remote control was the easiest one I've had the pleasure of dealing with as Japanese aircon remotes are notorious for making no sense even to some Japanese people lol I found it easy to work with. If you are traveling light the room is great. If you are traveling with larger luggage say from an international flight into Japan (me) you might have a bit of trouble wiggling your suit case into a place to get it open fully in the single rooms but that was okay for me!
