I had the most delightful stay at Cipresso Toscano in Mercatale val di Pesa! This charming apartment, located in the heart of the scenic Chianti region, provided the perfect Tuscan countryside experience while still being just a short 20-minute drive from the center of Florence.
The apartment itself was a cozy and inviting space. The large kitchen with a traditional fireplace added a touch of rustic charm, and the brand new appliances and high-speed fiber internet made it modern and convenient. The best part was that Netflix was included, so I could unwind and enjoy some shows after a day of exploring.
One of my favorite features was the south-west facing terrace, where I could soak up the sun during breakfasts and lunches.
The apartment was well-equipped and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The living room's leather sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the master bedroom was spacious with a cozy mattress and topper.
The bathroom had a shower and a washing machine, which was convenient for longer stays. Speaking of which, for stays over 5 days, they offered a voucher for purchasing local products - a thoughtful gesture that allowed me to experience the authentic flavors of Chianti.
Getting around was easy as the apartment was accessible by both car and public transport. The nearby bus stop made it convenient for exploring the area without a vehicle.
Mercatale val di Pesa itself was a gem in Chianti, maintaining its authenticity with friendly locals and shops offering genuine products at local prices. The local butcher and baker were particularly outstanding, providing some of the best meats, cheeses, and sourdough bread I've tasted.
Overall, my stay at Cipresso Toscano was nothing short of amazing. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat in the Tuscan countryside, with the added convenience of being close to Florence, I highly recommend this place. I'm already planning my next visit to this wonderful oasis!

Driving through this area is stunning at every turn.
Driving through this area is stunning at every turn. There are wineries everywhere (you need an appointment! Most can do that by emailing ahead) and the streets can be very narrow (scary to drive at times), but the views, restaurants and wineries are worth it.

Barbara the concierge/hotel manager was absolutely amazing. They provided champagne to celebrate my 30th birthday, and she absolutely went out of her way to help us navigate the area having not done much research beforehand. She was amazing. The hotel itself is stunning. We wished there had been some more comfy outdoor seating, but there was loads to do and check out. The vineyard was gorgeous and the restaurant and its staff were 5/5! We had an amazing weekend!
There are not enough words to describe how wonderful this hotel was. Best possible place to discover Tuscany - all the villages and place to visit are 1h drive away. It felt like the movies with its out of this world views and surroundings. Very peaceful and quiet with a pool. Everything you would expect from Tuscany area you can find at this hotel. On the grounds was the best restaurant we went to in Italy. Just absolutely amazing.
Absolutely incredible experience. The hotel is stunning and was the perfect place to relax on our Italy trip. Also the people who work there are very kind and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy.
