Easy city to get around with all the trams and buses.

Easy city to get around with all the trams and buses. Beautiful city with lots of history. Would highly recommend attending the Tattoo, it was spectacular. The Princess Street Garden and Park is a great place to walk with lots of points of interest. Recommend the hop on hop off buses to get from one area of the city to another, It's saves a lot of walking. A 48 hour pass will get you to all the areas of the city including the Royal Yacht Britannia. The Waterson book store on Princess Street has a really nice cafe with comfortable seating on the second floor and a fantastic view of the castle. The Vennel Steps next to the Milkman coffee shop has another great view of the Castle. Overall a must see part of a Scottish adventure.

Aberdeen was a surprisingly attractive city to visit and easy to get around on foot. I liked the fact that it was nowhere near as busy as Edinburgh yet had lots of character. Enjoyed the look of the harbour right up against Union Square, with many ocean-going tugs in close proximity. Plenty of good pubs, with a festive atmosphere. We ate at Ma Cameron's, with good pub grub, and Mi Amore, cosy Italian restaurant in one of the back streets.

I love Fort William, the area with the Loch right in front is stunning. There are some great little pubs to eat and have a drink, and a good amount of restarunts to choose from. There are hotels to B and Bs to stay. It is small with a lot of tourists from all over the world. It is a good base to drive and see some great country side.

We were using Oban to access the Cal Mac ferry to Lismore, as my partner's dad is buried there. Everything went very smoothly and we had a nice sailing there and back. We enjoyed a couple of excellent meals at the Waterfront Sea Food Restaurant and ES-USK Seafood Restaurant. Enjoyed an evening of live music and a few drinks in The Oban Inn. Finished the trip off by visiting McCaig's Tower, with excellent views over the town, sea, and surrounding Islands.

    Amazing!

Amazing! A must see place full of history and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Didn’t want to leave. Stunning views from the top of Stirling Castle, Stirling Jail’s Observation Tower and the William Wallace Monument. Free shuttle bus every few minutes up to the monument and free to view from the outside. All historical attractions worth a visit for the view as well as the history. Stirling old town available to see on foot. Easy distance from restaurants and pubs too. Lots of nice restaurants to choose from. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Scotland. Allow 3-4 days and allow 2.5 hours for Stirling Castle.

Aviemore has a great buzz about it – a proper gateway to the Cairngorms with a strong tourist vibe that makes it feel lively year-round. The high street is packed with outdoor shops, from big names like Ellis Brigham and Tiso to smaller independents, so whether you’re after hiking boots, ski gear or a new waterproof, you’re well catered for. There’s also a good mix of cafés, pubs and restaurants, which keeps the place welcoming after a day outdoors. It’s the kind of town where you instantly feel in “holiday mode,” with a steady flow of visitors giving it energy without losing its Highland charm.
