The rooms were very clean The breakfast had a lot of variety. The size of the room was big The staff was very nice The location was wonderful, in the middle of 400ha of golf, trees, garden, a beautiful property. The view of the bedroom was beautiful, on a private garden, the decoration of the room was old but okay.

The bed were « okay » but not that comfy The breakfast I was very disappointed, first the service is terrible, secondly, nothing was homemade (croissant, cake, muffin… etc). Not even simple thing like fresh orange juice, local cheese, local jam. For a 4stars standing it is a shame. The service was awful. When we arrive there was a lot of food from the rooms in the corridor, when we left one day later, nothing left from their places. The restaurants of the hotel had a terrible services (wrong dish, wrong drinks, never giving water, not taking of the plate correctly…) The toilet were making a huge sound, we asked for it to be repair but it kept doing a small sound that making you not sleep… Isolation was so so

Angie is an amazing host who goes above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as can be. She started as a stranger to me but I will now forever consider her a friend. I will definitely choose Rose garden retreat if I ever need to stay in Rayleigh again.

Good location close to bus route. Private parking. Reasonable price. Friendly manager. Very basic accommodation served it's purpose for an overnight stay.

Nice location, just off town centre but yet peaceful neighbourhood. Loved the breakfast, full Scottish breakfast

As a suggestion, would be good to install USB charging ports in the room for today's generation.

Location, very new and beautiful building. Very easy to check in and out.

Sheets and sofa were really dusty. The main bedroom bed a bit tilted. Better maintenance of sheets would be appreciated for who has allergies 😊

Little hard to work out were room was, maybe a sign saying garden room with arrow and where to park car. Heater could be on a little longer as a bit cold.

Hasn’t changed in over a decade.

The first room they gave me smelled of tobacco smoke. The second room the climate control didn’t work. The first two rooms looked like they hadn’t been renovated in a long time. The third room was okay: the climate control worked and the bathroom was decent. I was not impressed by the food. Expensive and small portion size. Could have come from a prepackaged child’s supermarket meal. Over the last 15 years or so I have stayed here over 400 times but this was the first time since Mercure has taken over. If they have invested in the property or the staff I could not detect it.
