I absolutely loved the location of the hotel you had everything you needed just outside it, restaurants, takeaways and everything was in walking distance from landmarks to museums. The room wasn't massive but it was perfect for a couple they had a kettle with teas and coffees sticks to stir your coffee and sugar provided, the bathroom has soap in the bath which is brilliant if you didn't bring your own, the view wasn't bad either you could see all the benches and restaurants where it was bustling with people enjoying themselves, restaurants right outside the front door of the hotel which was amazing, the staff were friendly too and another bonus of our stay was if we wanted late check out it was only 10 pounds until 2pm which was awesome!

I didn't like how expensive the hotel was thinking it wouldn't be the best but surprisingly for the location that it was in, it was worth it! And it was clean so all in all the whole stay was a breeze

My only comment of a negative type is that when the booking was made , no mention was made of the Open Mic session that went on to 11.30 pm. This disturbed any chance of an early night in preparation for a busy morning that I faced in Lymington itself. I did enjoy the armchair in the bedroom which helped to provide a relaxed atmosphere.

Heather and Craig were fantastic hosts, very accommodating and friendly. The rooms were really clean, spacious and had everything you would expect for an enjoyable break away. The Guest house is perfectly situated for a short walk to Derwent Water or into town. We really enjoyed our time at West View and look forwards to visiting again.

Very smart room. The guest house had only been open for 12 months and everything is new and modern twist to an old property. Great location to the Platform 1864 restaurant which is to be recommended but you need to pre-book

The location is good and the room itself although small and basic was recently done up. Although I barely saw the staff when they were present they were all very kind and helpful.

The carpets made the corridors smell like a wet dog. Clearly they had done up the rooms which was great for a budget hotel, however the access to the rooms requires a lot of work as it felt like a storage area. Furthermore, although the whole town stops serving drinks and quietens down by 12 this pub had load music until 3am both Friday and Saturday. You could hear everything that was happening in the pub from the room, from the music, the talking and even the pool cue. Finally we were told check out by 10:30 and we could leave our bags in a safe place for the day. At 10:30 there was nobody in the whole venue, so just note on a Sunday there is no staff until 11am. The room was also very very hot, we turned the fan on and kept the window open for air however the fan dropped dust all over the bed.
