It was close to everything. It is located just near Rise Street, which is the central shopping mall and is full of great pubs. The locals are really polite. It is very easy to navigate around Edinburgh on foot.

I was not told their was no on-site reception, so initially, when I arrived, I had to phone, and they talked me through the code to unlock the main door and then how to access the key safe. After that everything was perfect.

Had to book and pay £10 to use the pool. Limited refreshments in room - no bottles of water or biscuits available. Constant traffic noise from M42 kept us awake. Basic standard of room for what I paid and was charged twice for room - had to call to get this corrected!

The room was incredibly hot, the window was opposite an office so I couldn't open the curtains to let in more air, the aircon was broken, so only had a fan that was blowing hot air around the room, the room was tiny, single bed, the wall against the bed was really grubby, which was horrible to lie against. In addition to being opposite the office so people could see into the room, there was a flat roof filled with litter, the view was grotty! The floor in the room felt so rickety and old it might cave in and I go through the ceiling at any point! The breakfast was poor quality the eggs Florentine hollandaise sauce was really watery, definitely not made fresh. The pancakes were stale. There was no yoghurt at breakfast and they had run out of all of the cold drinks at breakfast apart from cranberry juice. The jacuzzi tiles were all coming off in the spa. Other guests were moaning at breakfast about how hot the rooms were too so I think air con was broken throughout the hotel.

Dreadfull experience. Room, especially bathroom was dirty, many hairs left on wet floor. Mold or sth like that stink in the room. Noise until late night from the level above (like someone repeatedly mover the furniture.

Not enough space for large suitcase. Rooms are not soundproof. Heard all the talking and opening and closing of doors all night. Even a suitcase fall in the corridor. Hot meal was horrible. Change provider.
