Breakfast bag was a lovely touch, which was offered when I checked in and mentioned that I had an early departure. I thought it might be tricky to provide gluten free options last minute but you delivered. Gluten free brioche, juice box and fruit. I was able to have a quick coffee before leaving, prepared for me by the duty manager. Great service, all the staff I spoke with at the hotel were friendly and efficient. Nice shower and comfy bed. Very convenient for the Luton Dart airport shuttle.

Nothing at all. All positive.

The breakfast was fine, the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The room was okay but it’s location wasn’t great although the hotel itself is in a good location.

The bedside lights on one side didn’t work and we were told the fault wasn’t fixable during our stay. The hairdryer supplied didn’t work and had to be replaced but the new one was dirty with fluff. There didn’t seem much point in getting another replacement! We had no view out of the window except the car park, and for what we paid (£100 per night including the dog charges) I would have expected a bit more. The hotel needs updating and decorating, it’s looking a little dated.

I was able to walk from the train station to the hotel, to the city center, to the cathedral, along the river. I only had to take a taxi to get to the University.

I wish there had been a little bar of soap for the bath. I asked for one, but none could be found. The wall mounted containers were NOT good for taking a bath.

The restaurant and staff were excellent. The public area was very comfortable. A nice place to relax.
Negative section of review
The room was a huge disappointment. It should not have been made available even at half the price. The standard of the room fell a long way short of 4* and negated the lovely meal we were treated to downstairs in the restaurant. The paint was peeling off the inside of the window, The window was sealed shut and the ventilation was poor. The shower head looked terrible so I wouldn't even think of using it. The other rooms did not appear to be as bad - one or two were visible when the cleaning staff were on duty. I hope this was the only room in the hotel in this state but I will not going back to stay so that I can find out. The stay was spoiled by the room.

Very good location, easy to go anywhere

Very difficult to get keys to open the apartment when checking and check out. We have to walk away couple streets to find the shop to get the keys from. This is unfriendly for the people who unfamiliar with the area. There was no light 💡 in one bedroom, the owner didn’t fix it, instead to offer an extension cord to cross the corridor to plug in outside the bedroom which is an unsafe practice and potentially dangerous if trapped down by the electrical cord. The window curtains string in the living room and a handle in the bedroom needs to be replaced.
