We wanted an apartment rather than a hotel, so that we had our own space to relax between family visits. We chose the location as it was close to the venue for a wedding we were attending. It was reasonably well equipped and suitable for the length of our stay. The apartment had everything we needed, plus it was close to a small grocery shop, bakers, restaurants and take-away outlets.

The location was on the main high street so was noisy with traffic. The main double bedroom was at the front on the main road and was directly opposite from a very busy bar which was open until the early hours and quite noisy. As the apartment was above a florist, we were disturbed by the delivery of flowers at 3.30 am when they lifted the security barriers. The other issue we had was parking. We were extremely fortunate to access one remaining car parking space in the 24 hour car park at the rear, probably because we arrived after office hours on a week day. Weekends were a bit easier. During the week, we had to use taxi's to avoid losing our space and potentially having to park on a road some considerable distance away. We were fortunate because we know the area really well and a friend was able to update us on parking restrictions throughout the town. Perhaps having access to the space allocated to the apartment at the back of the building on a temporary permit might be useful!

Surveyors reported that the apartment was great, very clean they have enjoyed their stay. I would like to thank Lia for her quick communication and kindness, we are very please and wish you the very best for the future. If we ever working in the area we will definitely stay Clifton House again.

The apartment was comfort, well equipped and clean except for the windows inside and out plus the wall over the bath had not been cleaned. These apartments are in a wonderful location for walking and enjoying the lakes with plenty of parking.

When we arrived we were very disappointed by the general appearance of the outside of the building. Everywhere could do with a good coat of paint and the front door step and front porch had not been swept for weeks. The floor tiles in the porch needed washing and we were then greeted in the hall, which was clean, by a filthy dog towel hanging on the radiator. That was there the whole of our stay. We also had no hot water in the shower!

Bed was stated to be a large double …..this didn’t seem to be the case. Lack of ventilation in the room - no air con or fan and opening the window just let in pigeon noises! Shower head could do with replacing.

We arrived at 9.30pm at our hotel to be told we have been moved to a different hotel because the hotel was full. Booking in was until midnight. We had been travelling 5 hours by train & refused the offer as I had booked thru booking . Com. I am disabled & cannot travel easily. After many minutes of disagreement the booking clerk “found” a room. Obviously the hotel was not full. I was given a twin room not a double & was told to pay the full price. I am shocked to be treated in this way, by a reputable hotel. I would appreciate a reply on why this happened. P j Drewery.
