Amazing staff … reception and bar were good in terms of look and cleanliness. However, overpriced, room was tiny (I booked a superior room - can’t imagine how small the standard rooms are). Housekeeping terrible - didn’t make beds, no new towels or toilet paper

The staff were all very friendly and attentive - there was a lovely welcoming and friendly atmosphere which was great. The location of the pub is perfect for walkers The bed linen was clean and fresh Toiletries were of good quality and sustainability provided.

Breakfast was of good quality but not much choice of non cooked options. Tea was luke warm on arrival. The evening meal was of fair quality Room was clean - but one part of the shower was very dirty - it is the bit behind the door frame that I think the cleaners don't see but it was extremely dirty which wasn't pleasant.

OMG how can I describe the pleasure we had in no42 ! This was an incredible stay ! There is a pantry !! Free access all day long, for sparkling water, fresh baked cakes … and more !

This hotel is located to where we needed to be, I have used this hotel many times, the staff are friendly &helpful , the grounds have plenty of space the rooms are spacious.

The staff were super friendly and really made you feel welcome. The location is absolutely brilliant so central and the entrance from the station is just the icing on the cake.

Location is excellent for access to southern / eastern side of Birmingham area, set in pleasant grounds away in the countryside.

The room was next to a loud extractor fan from the kitchen, making it constantly noisy. The pillows (so important for sleep outcome) were very poor. A deep clean is also required - it seemed some time since anyone bothered to inspect the corners, etc. We were told that luggage could be left securely ahead of check-in, but they were just put in full view behind the reception desk, which was not manned. We later felt uneasy about this and decided to take the bags with us instead, and came back and took them with nobody noticing - the opposite of "secure" storage!
