Excellent reception service especially from the gentleman who was running the bar and then back to reception he was like a yo-yo. He needed help through as all the glasses were not taken away from our table and he was running out of glasses he definitely needed an extra pair of hands to help him especially during a busy time like on Wednesday as huge event next door at the International Centre which we were all attending.

No long mirror in my room which was not good. As a lady we like to see what we look like in full long length mirror so please going forward as I stay at this hotel twice a year put a long mirror in every room please. My only other thing I didn't like was the noisy house keeping staff in the morning at 8am talking very loudly and knocking my door to see if I required it to be cleaned.

An interesting hotel, trendy but a little bit too dark in corridors. Comfortable bed, and good shower. Staff are perhaps a little too laid back and laconic for some.Convenient area, only 15 mins walk to Pier Head.

The parking is not as straightforward as suggested. One staff member recommended a multi storey which was over 500 m away and would have cost me £60 for 3 days. I found a better solution nearby. They need to be more helpful on this. Advertised food offering on the website was not available when I went for an early dinner.

The staff are on the whole very welcoming and the size of the place and access etc is good. The food and bar area is nice.

Additional charges for parking and pool/gym which were not charged the previous time we stayed. Also room was not clean, bottle tops and unclean floor under bed. Quiet time starts at 10pm, but could hear people being loud in the bar until 2pm which kept my children awake.

The breakfast was OK, a little bit dated with its service as they are still applying Covid restrictions. You could not help yourself to what you want. There seemed to be a strange array of toasters on various dining tables, which was a bit strange. The hotel itself is very dated and could do with a complete refurb and modernising. I would not rate this as 4 star more like 3. Unfortunately I did not sleep very well as there was a really bad damp smell by my bed head. There were also scattered sheets at the bottom of the wardrobe which did not look good at all. Very tired hotel in need of some tlc. Otherwise the people/hosts were lovely. It cost us £189 for the room for one night which we felt was over priced for its standards.
