This is a spotlessly clean hotel very close to the railway & bus station. The staff were efficient. Our room (accessible room) was a good size - the kitchen facilities were welcome, working and complete. The Wi-Fi worked consistently well. The bed was comfortable.
Negative section of review
The breakfast was meagre, and the coffee machine was the joke of everyone at breakfast - constantly running out of supplies, and so slow! For an accessible room (my partner has minor disabilities & not in a wheelchair) it was very poorly designed and may not meet the needs of less able individuals travelling on their own. The area around the hotel feels a little unsafe in the evenings. The stay was expensive for what it was.

The location is stunning, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Menu was good with a variety of pub grub, which was very tasty and was always hot!

Bed was really soft, and the building would benefit from a refurb both inside and out.

- Location was perfect : next to the train station and conveniently located between the Old and the New Town - Good size room - Good value breakfast buffet
Negative section of review
- No shutters and curtains are not completely blocking out light so it's not great when you like sleeping in the dark - Can be quite noisy depending on where your room is located

The room where we stays was perfect! Absolutely beautiful, lovely comfy bed, lovely well thought-out furniture. The break was also good value for money.

The weather was very hot and sunny but unfortunately we couldnt open the bedroom and bathroom windows and the fans provided were a little small, so it was a little uncomfortable to sleep.

The bar and restaurant is very presentable, I assume it has been recently refurbished and a convenient place to eat if staying there. However they were extremely understaffed. Lack of management and a pregnant employee was left to manage the bar and restaurant and check in guests on her own. It took 1 hour to get our dinner, despite having to order food at the bar and only 4 occupied tables. Two of which complained/sent their food back. They ran out of chips so they went to the shops to buy some more. For breakfast, half the food was already gone and no staff in sight to replenish the buffet. I had to find and ask someone to get more yoghurt and cutlery. The bedrooms were adequate. The double rooms are extremely small but were clean.
