The location is wonderful, situated in a quiet spot with a fabulous view across Grasmere but only a few minutes walk from the village with several pubs and restaurants. The house was very spacious and very nicely furnished.

The bed was comfortable, we ate there too which was fine. The cooked breakfast was good and plentiful.

When we arrived there was no plug for the wash hand basin, which was badly cracked. I told one of the staff who inspected it and said he would get one, but never returned. At dinner I asked another member of staff and she said it was all sorted now. When we went back to the room, true there was a plug but when filled with water there was a large leek in the basin and it flooded the floor and me. Clearly that was the reason there was no plug, they must have know this before we arrived. Sad that they chose to ignore it. We could have been moved to another room or at least had this explained to us with apologies.
