Honestly, staff and communication was amazing - can't fault it. I only stayed for one night and was out early in the morning, so I can't say much on the hostel as a whole. But my room was clean, a very good price, and the home itself is stunning, a very very nice hostel if you're backpacking or just need a cheap room to stay in. Id love to come back and stay longer in the future.

Reception was a little hard to find but I'm sure it was more me being over tired after a long drive aha

Very clean and tidy, just right for our needs - a one night stay and we were out for both days so a place to sleep and have a shower. Friendly front desk and easy walk into the city centre.

Extensive roadworks out the front (June 2024) meant that even our local friend struggled to find where to drop us off - a heads up would have been helpful. The work resumed at half seven under one of our windows which wasn't welcome after a night out. Appreciate that there was a big concert on that night and the hotel has no control over the roadworks but it wasn't a cheap stay and there weren't many other options that night due to the concert.

The staff were excellent and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They were exceptionally kind and welcoming to my son who has an intellectual disability.

The views were great. Location excellent not far from town and twelve minutes to Newcastle. Beds comfortable and cottage clean. Had everything you would need for a pleasant stay

The food was lovely. The service was great in the weekdays but really not so good at weekends. The receptionists were very helpful and knowledgeable.

You need more restaurant staff at weekends and maybe longer breakfast times to accommodate all the guests comfortably. My room was not serviced until mid afternoon at the weekend and on Sunday it was nearly 3pm when someone came round and as I was already back in my room only the tea, milk and biscuits were replenished, nothing else was cleaned. Again more staff are needed at weekends!

Very friendly staff and excellent location for the ferry and shuttle bus to the Isle of Wight Festival

I booked a deluxe sea view room, and didn’t expect to be woken at 6:30am by the very loud hovercraft. If I had known it was noisy I probably would have looked for an alternative room at the back of the hotel

Great location and great bar

Appreciate booking a no window room but a bed that touched both sides of the room and needed to climb into from the foot of the bed not great! Plus only two pillows on the bed.
