Lovely hosts, David & Julie made us most welcome, they are the 3rd generation of same family to own the cottage, it is steeped with quirky mix of old and new features and furnishings etc and full of character, a lovely home. Our twin room was very comfortable a cozy, nice thick mattresses on beds and warm bedding including heating in room, the large private bathroom is very modernly tiled with large full walk in rain shower, it was excellent. Our door also opened out to small courtyard, excellent for relaxing outside at the round table and chairs listening to the birds and the smell of Spring in the air.

We would like to have seen or been provided with a menu of breakfast food/meal options and perhaps the option to pre-select our choices the evening before, but that was just a minor issue, Julie & was still able to provide us with the breakfasts that we chose.

Spacious room with lovely views of swans building nest outside our room. Very clean facilities throughout. Delicious meals and huge breakfast selection. Courteous and helpful staff. Great benefit of lift after previous accommodation.

Had so many unecassery hidden fees. I felt like from the moment I got there they were after my money. We stayed on a Monday so the hotel had nobody staying and the car park was empty. So I would understand if they charged you for parking if it was always full but there were loads of spaces and they charged you £8 for a space. Inside the hotel they wouldn’t let you use contactless and explained it’s so that people don’t try and claim anything back which made no sense and was strange. And was very odd to mention to your guests. Not only that we asked if there was any chance in checking in 40 minutes early and they said we had to pay £10 which obviously made no sense because there was literally me and my friends and maybe one other guest staying there, and they make you check out as early as 10am and check in after 4pm our room was obviously ready. When we were in the room there was just 100s of information about what charge is what and they even said they would charge us for coffee pods to use in our rooms. Just from the minute being there I felt like they were trying to snatch our money from us with any excuse they could. Not only that it was boiling and the windows didn’t open properly and there was no air con and no fans so we couldn’t sleep at all. Definitely wouldn’t stay again

There was an alarm that was constantly beeping and I stayed Thursday till Tuesday so had a constant sore head because of this and it didn’t help trying to sleep with the constant noise. The bed was atrocious I actually have bruises from the springs. It was uncomfortable, loud and painful to try to sleep in. It didn’t mention the stairs to get into the property or inside the property. It does mention that there is a pub underneath so you expect food and entertainment what wasn’t mentioned was that it was a darts pub so no entertainment and it closed early and opened late so food wasn’t readily available. To get into the property there were metal barrels in front of the front door and laundry bags at the bottom of the stairs. I only seem one staff member and that was the day I was checking out, they came into my room even tho I had a late check out and still asked me to leave early as they had someone else to go into the room.
