Nice location for Bury st Edmunds and good parking. Chose to go out for Dinner - We wet into town (good 20 minute walk) by car and there are plenty of varying cost eateries. Town is really nice.

On check in, nobody at reception and 2 computer screen check in's were not working. Piece of paper said go to bar! this we did, and a dour fellow said "no check in until 3". Fortunately this suited us! When we did check in, we were given what we assumed was a newly decorated room. Closer look showed it to be a half job with all old fittings and bathroom with a coat of paint. Bed was acceptable but not best. We had full English breakfast in morning. Hard boiled egg instead of poached and stewed beans sums up the experience! Checkout again was via empty reception! Shall not return!

Really lovely site. Really friendly and helpful with good communication Fire pit and cake on arrival are lovely touches. The electric blankets mean extra cosy evenings.

Spa and pool was ok but the floor of the hot tub was broken and outside pool not available,staff were good and helpful
