Was glad of Satnav to locate but happy with accommodation and facilities offered. Not obvious from prospectus that it combined hotel with lodges for family and fishing holidays around a lake and in an area designated of natural beauty. Could therefore be quite crowded. Undoubtedly good centre for exploring but car very necessary as quite out of the way. Excellent value at price offered.

Room furnished to modern standards and excellent quality if a little cramped. Facilities suitable for children and family holidays rather than those of a country hotel which is how it appeared on Website.

Nothing really , just small things like peeling wallpaper in the room that could easily be pasted down. Large room, double bed looked lost the room could easily fit a kingsize which would be nice . Everything else is great

Location was great. Warm welcome from receptionist. Loved the old building and its creeky stairs. Bedroom was fine and clean. Shower facilities was good.

My impression when moving through the hotel toward our room the varnished woodwork needs a bit of tlc staff didn’t inform us the there were 2 deep stairs leading from the bedroom to the shower room. Might be a struggle for older people etc. breakfast wasn’t particularly great but that is a personal preference. Not square sausage. Haggis was dry scrambled eggs a bit wet. Sat next to fire exit with doors opened causing food to cool down to quickly but I understand it’s a warm environment. Just don’t sit near the exits.

It was very spacious with comfortable beds and large living area. We liked that it provided basic cookery items plus breakfast cereals and milk.

We were due to stay 3 nights, but the two single beds in our room were very uncomfortable, gave us both bad backs, when I went to get into bed, it had no fitted bottom sheet. I had to ask staff for one. We left, came home after two nights. For the £150.00 per night I paid, it wasn’t worth the money, the bathroom blind was mouldy, the shower manifold was loose. The electric heater didn’t work, I went to put it on as it was cold that evening... no heat. The room was quite small. It was not worth the money. Very disappointing!!
