Booked three rooms which included breakfast.received an email prior to check in to say because I had booked through a third party breakfast wasn't included. phoned manger who confirmed we were booked for breakfast, but she was very uproot which set the tome for our visit. Bedding not clean in one room ( they changed it once it was highlighted). Breakfast menu is very specific about choosing tea coffee OR orange juice ( which I felt was unusual, given that every other hotel I have stayed in offer orange juice as part of the breakfast).No cereal or fruit.Orders taken from menu which was well cooked and tasty but unusual not to have the option of cereal etc. Dinner was very expensive and we didn't feel value for money.

Nice view from the bedroom we stayed in but window filthy and covered in dirty fingerprints. The waitress was very friendly. At some point they have clearly spent some money on using Harris Tweed furnishings in the bedroom but these were absent anywhere else in the hotel- the rest of the hotel had no nice features. Just very tired and run down.

There is a very long list as this place was horrible…. Room was filthy- didn’t dare walk barefoot on the dirty carpet. Room stank of smoke. Room was tiny- could barely get round the bed. Sideboard in bedroom had a random old dirty towel left there. Surfaces and drawers in bedroom were dirty. Very strange sink unit in bathroom with temporary plastic thing covering all stains. Shower tiny and dirty. Toilet dirty. Blind broken in bedroom. No TV remote in bedroom. Bed so uncomfortable gave us back ache. Food at dinner and breakfast was very basic and almost inedible- it turned my stomach. They used the absolute most cheap ingredients they could source- the meat looked revolting. ‘Fresh fruit’ was so hard it was inedible. Everything was so cheap and clearly most of it microwaved. The biggest joke of all, was that they gave us instant coffee served in a cafetière- trying to pretend they were actually serving us real coffee! They wouldn’t even spend money on some actual real fresh coffee. Paid £195 to stay in this filthy, miserable ‘hotel’. Total rip off and all round very strange place. Using the cheapest of everything. Do not recommend.

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Easy to find, fab location right near lovely Ashbourne town centre and Sainsbury’s just a stones throw away, it wasn’t noisy at all though! Good off road parking. Bed was lovely & comfortable too.

There wasn’t anything we disliked, only comment would be that the WiFi isn’t great. However, this didn’t impact on the quality of our stay.

Excellent location. 5 mins walk from railway station and 10 mins from centre. Large comfortable room. Good en suite.

Wedding at the hotel meant that the outside terrace was out of bounds for non-wedding guests and also the kitchen wasn't able to prepare non-wedding food.

We could hear the guests in the room above us walking around as the floors were quite squeaky. This woke me up early but did not spoil our stay. X
