This was such a wonderful find. Close to RAF Cranwell where we were attending our son's graduation. Perfectly located wonderful pub and great stuff. Sadly didn't have a chance to try the food. The hotel accommodation was of a good standard nice and clean and a lovely quiet room, all in all perfect well done. The bonus was the history with the original pub/house owned by the famous Dennys Finch Hatton, played by the marvellous Robert Redford in Out of Africa I'll definitely have to see that film again !

The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good and varied unfortunately the poached eggs were overdone. The kitchen were very accommodating for my granddaughter who had multiple allergies. One of our party had fish and chips unfortunately it was a little greasy. The roast of the day was good but the plate was overcrowded with lots of vegetables and lacked any presentation.

Security was terrible generally. There is no way to lock your room door when you are out. Other guests can go in your room. We had permission to bring my pet bird, but then when we got there, there was nowhere secure to leave her. I was very unhappy about this.I ended up having to lock her in a flimsy wardrobe. Thankfully I took her night light otherwise we would have left. When we got back from our gig, we were locked out by another guest very late at night. It was pouring down with rain, and I had a distressed vulnerable adult with me. The host wouldn’t answer the repeated phone calls or messages, in fact they only replied the next morning with an excuse. We only got in because my friend was screaming outside. I have disputed this with booking.com, and got nowhere. The host lied about us being outside for only 15 mins as they had cameras, however there was no way for them to know this as the only camera was INSIDE, and this is not stated on their listing either. I have added photos to show times. I have noticed in other bed reviews this host has received, that then tend to reply and add a little something on such as guest stole this or that, which I highly doubt is true. Our trip was ruined by this place, and because of the lack of accountability by booking.com for the host to actually provide what they say they are providing, I won’t be using this platform again and would rather pay a higher price, so that my trips away are not fraught with distress. I will add that EVENTUALLY, even through booking.coms customer service, and their supposed independent complaints procedure (which is actually just on automated online mediation, and also doesn’t count for anything) it was agreed that I received a £5 refund, which is both hilariously and insulting at the same time. I’m still waiting for this by the way, three months later

The apartment was not ready to have guests. Appliances were not working, the bed was not made, the fridge was smelly, the freezer was broken, the hot water was turned off. Very noisy neighbours two nights in a row and no one there to monitor.
