The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

We've stayed at The Lilly four times (including this latest visit), so we knew pretty much about the property. The location draws us there. It is directly on Llandudno West Shore, so the outlook is stunning, and whenever we've stayed there has been amble, on-street parking available. The bar has some decent beers on tap. The Breakfast is good, and the cooked option of this is offered up al a carte, so it's not just sat in a buffet-style layout.

I fully appreciate that most hospitality businesses are now running on tight profit margins, but unfortunately it's obvious that The Lilly is being run on a shoe-string budget. From outside, on first arrival it's just looking 'sad'. There is little warmth or welcome appeal. Both times we've gone recently, there appears to be just one member of staff working - spinning plates between serving behind the bar, checking guests in, and bringing food orders out from the kitchen. (For all I know he might even have been cooking the food!) I'd emailed the hotel directly two days before check-in, requesting specific rooms (#3,4 or 5), if they were available? I received no response, and at check-in we'd been allocated a different room (#7). I was informed that Room 4 was available, but it would be an additional £25. I declined. To me, if you genuinely value repeat customers, and an 'upgraded' room is still unoccupied at 5pm then put your returning guests in there, rather than leaving it empty? Room 7 wasn't great - the 'double bed' is VERY cosy (small!) for two adults, the TV remote didn't work properly, and the shower screen/door wasn't fitted properly, so it felt like it could fall off at any minute! But the worst part was it just didn't feel clean. There was an empty biscuit wrapper behind the bedside cabinet, an empty sweet wrapper near the bin, and generally dusty on the bathroom floor, near the exposed pipework. It may sound like nit-picking, and I'm really not trying to be overly critical on here, but when these things were so apparent to us, why aren't the housekeeping staff/Owners not seeing these issues? If you were a 1st time guest, then the sign at the Reception desk asking for patience as 'Maintenance is ongoing', and likewise the sign on the Guest Lounge saying 'opening soon' would be met with some sympathy and acceptance.

All staff we met during our stay were very friendly warm and welcoming. The hotel is in a perfect location for Keswick once you park your car everything is in easy walking distance. The room was very clean and spacious and the breakfast was delicious.

The only downside was the water pressure in the bathroom.

The plates for breakfast were very small to put a cooked breakfast on, just kept falling off the plate while eating. The sink in the room was cracked on one side.
