Loved the qwerky decor and the location was fabulous. Kitchen was very well equipped although no dishwasher. The spa bath was divine. Central heating very easy to use.

Stairs very steep and an epic climb as only 9 instead of usual 12 or so. Lounge is dark and not very comfortable. No TV. A few ants in the kitchen. The "courtyard" was less than inviting.

- maintenence guy was lovely but couldn't get anything to work - not his fault just poor quality applications (Heating & hot water)

- Avoid this place at all costs! - No Heating - after multiple times asking maintenence came late at night and tried but said it'll come on soon but never did - quite cold - TV remote missing - asked about this several times and kept coming back that they're waiting for housing keeping to tell them where they've taken it - No hot water in whole place- maintenence tried to sort this and did in the evening (9pm ish) but didn't work on arrive hence had to chance out plans and didn't work in the morning either - NB: read the extra info as it's not the marketed price overall - excluded is a £40 cleaning fee and VAT - which is normally always included in booking.com market price - if I had know would 100% not have booked as the quality don't not match the price after staying there I would never recommend this place

The hotel is in an excellent location close to bars and shops and the main attractions.

The room was small for 2 people and the bathroom was tiny as well with no window. The room was airless as the windows did not open and the view onto the side of thebuilding was poor. The breakfast was disappointing for the price. The tea and coffee were inadequate and the poached egg that I ordered did not have a yoke and some items were cold when served. The tomato was insipid and very small. I sent the breafast back and had to wait for a replacement then eat on my own as my partner has finished. The menu for evening meals were not very inspiring and high in price. We cut out stay short and only stayed for one night instead of two.

We stayed in the annexe called the Levens. The bathroom was dire. Every time the people upstairs had a shower, we got their dirty water pouring in our bathroom.. The management team was already aware of this problem but chose to let the rooms anyway. We were offered towels to mop up the dirty water. Absolutely filthy place.... I have a video of the water pouring through the ceiling but can't upload it. I have attached a few photos. Be warned this is not a 4**** hotel. I will be making enquiries from Thwaites. for a Full Refund.
