We kept saying that this hotel was a hidden gem, it's tucked away behind a very busy road, but when you enter the court yard you are transported into a calm oasis of utter beauty. The building is very very old and the history is very well explained on the website. The garden has exclusive access to the wall which surrounds the inner city of York, a beautiful area to just sit and relax after a busy day visiting all the wonderful sites of the city. I must mention the staff who were without exception the best we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Nothing was too much trouble even down to a little packed lunch to bid us farewell.

A lovely home from home property which has excellent access to the beach and Deal centre, with lots of local places to eat. The host remained in contact via text and was very helpful although everything was in order. We only stayed for a long weekend but could easily stay for longer. The house was spacious and unique. We had a nice outside patio space at the back where you can sit in the evenings. Lovely bathroom and plenty of seating. Deal itself is very dog friendly.

Parking can be an issue at certain times but your can drop off your luggage in a safe area and there is a car park 5 minutes away. The host very kindly leaves everything you should need although perhaps provide an iron

The only thing I didn’t like, but this is personal preference is crisp cotton white bedding as I felt it was a little old and needed a refresh and also white towels .
