Awful service in the restaurant, first server struggled to take a food and drink order, and I had to repeat 5 times what I would like off the menu. Starter arrived, but over 2 hours later, the main courses had not arrived, so I chased up the order. The order then promptly arrived and was incorrect. My child was unable to eat what was presented to him because it was the wrong order, and so it had to be sent back. A further wait ensued, and another server came to apologise and offer the child meal for free as compensation, which was a nice gesture. I later requested a j20 apple and raspberry because we had seen the hotel had these in stock in the take out service area behind reception, only to be advised they cannot service this behind the bar and I needed to go to reception to purchase said drink (in the same hotel! Yards away from the bar area!). Upon purchasing from the reception (lovely gentlemen on reception), it became apparent that I then needed to go back to the bar to have the bottle opened! After all this, we eventually sat down and ate our correct meals. We then went to pay the bar/restaurant bill and was told, "Don't worry, the bill has been settled because of the inconvenience. By this time it was already past my child's bedtime because he had a world teakwondo competition the next day, so we went up to our room and declined all the bar/restaurant managers offers of extra free drinks and deserts. I have, however, just checked my bank account and believe I have now been fully charged for all meals, and this is disgraceful! Additionally, on looking for a hairdryer in the room, I discovered there to be none, so I had to phone reception for a replacement. All in all,'first world problems' admittedly, but at £389 for one night, I believe Marriott could do a lot better.
