Staff were wonderful. From Joey on reception, who was both welcoming and very professional, to Mark in the bar, for whom nothing was too much trouble. We were met on the 3rd floor by Sharon, who took us to our room and indicated the facilities. She couldn't have been more helpful, and was very cheerful. The breakfast staff in the restaurant were friendly and helpful. They worked hard to meet our requests.

The building itself is stunning....the staff from the check in to the service in the restaurant were very friendly and efficient, couldn't have asked for more from them. The room was very clean. The City itself is great for a two night stay...plenty to see and do.

The bed was a little hard for my liking...there was no tray with the tea / coffee sachets, so when you had a cup of tea etc, there was no where to put the spoon except on the wooden table, which wasn't great. Not the Hotel's fault, but it was very very noisy in the evening (outside) until around 3 am - so much so it was very difficult to get to sleep. For that reason alone I wouldn't return to the hotel.

Given a free upgrade to a suite on the top floor. Separate living room and a huge bathroom with a bath and shower. Immaculately clean throughout.

Stayed numerous times when the hotel first opened over 20years ago……but not as frequent in recent years as the rooms are looking ‘tired’. However, staff assured us that there is now an ongoing refit of the rooms, so possibly stay more often in the future.

Spacious, comfortable, plenty of storage, good kitchen for self catering, nice coastal walking route to town centre.

Unfortunately there were bad smells from the drains which made one of the bathrooms unusable and affected the living area. We reported this the morning after arriving and despite them offering for maintenance to attend it seemed to make no difference. We were only there for a short stay, had we been there for longer we should have asked to move rooms. Some of the towels were heavily worn.
