Excellent location, just yards from the seafront. John is a lovely welcoming host and is very caring with his guests. Property is located in the beautiful back garden of the house, easy to access and private with outdoor table and chairs for guest use. The property is well designed and has everything you need. The stairs to the main sleeping area are steep ( based on ship's, hence the name!). Sleeping is 3 mattresses upstairs in the attic/deck room (1 double, 2 single) with all bedding provided, there is also a sofabed downstairs. The area is calm and quiet but with lots of facilities and things to do nearby - great walks and cafes nearby. The weather was hot when we were there and the Wheelhouse was a perfect temperature, never over heated and also seemed as though it would also be warm and cosy on colder days too. Highly recommended for a relaxing break.

The accommodation was lovely, clean, and very well maintained. The location is great as it's not far from the town, but far enough that it's quiet and the views over the fields are amazing. The hot tub is a great extra that is situated in a good spot. It is secluded with a great view. I would highly recommend staying here as a couple, it is a great place to come to relax and to recharge the batteries. Also the, nightly flight of the barn owl over the front of the property was a lovely sight.

We stayed in room 3,not the best.only view we had was poor.we knew we it was the last room so wasn’t expecting much.loads of noise from drunks walking home at night. The bar only had entertainment on Friday and nothing on Saturday, service was not too good here as the staff who ran the bar also ran reception and kept disappearing ,meaning you were left waiting around to be served.prices was not the cheapest either, you had Wetherspoons at the end of the street so your better off going there .not a bad stay here but not the best.hotel is clean and comfortable.

Staff were awful. Food disappointing. We were thrown out of the bar at 10.00 so had to go to bed. Breakfast was equally disappointing, we were served by the cleaner
