As we traveled with a pet we were happy to find place its pet friendly. Very good location in not too bussy. Room we got was in the ground floor so dog could go outside, however I highly recoment to rip off the carpets and replace to vinyl or hard floor, as carpets were dirty, covered in dogs hair and had lods of marks from other dog accidends. Beding & towels were very clean.

Ground floor corridor has very unpleasant smell. Unfortunately Restaurant was very disappointing, below average.

The welcome was warm; there was a fantastic range of snacks and breakfast items; the room was airy and comfortable. Directions to the pub were very helpful. The folder with details about the property and further afield was comprehensive. It was a lovely venue to return to after a long day. It was a perfect location for us.

great location, very friendly and competent staff, new look and feel to the bedrooms. Enjoyed the range and quality of food for breakfast and dinner. The pool was a good size and a pleasant temperature. My twp daughters aged 9 and 12 really enjoyed their stay.

i found the pillows a little uncomfortable, too soft and too small. The bedroom was far too warm at night. However, the morning after found the air conditioning had a separate ON switch that I didn't notice during the night. When turned on the AC did cool the room nicely. Bar prices a bit step, over £7 for a pint!

Fantastic hotel and amazing staff. The dinner staff was particularly delightful. Room was clean and very spacious with huge, comfortable bed. 10/10 for the hotel and staff.

For dinner, I had the catch of the day (pollock) and it was really good. My partner had the Spring Radish Gnocchi, which she described as bland and tasteless (I know!). She had to search for the three tiny slices of radish buried in the dish. Breakfast was at the Penny Farthing, across the road. To say it was disappointing is an understatement. My cooked breakfast was brought to me in the time it takes to poach an egg (which by the way was very nice). The rest of the cooked breakfast obviously spent considerable time under a heat lamp. Shame on you, The Bear, for contracting a Premier Inn quality breakfast; unbelievable...

The fan in the bathroom was blasting all night at 87db. Reception told me in the morning you can turn it down by twisting the centre. This information would be handy in the room or when you check in.
