Gorgeous rooftop terrace & pool by the chimneys makes it really special. Exceptionally gorgeous bed linen & super comfy bed. Unique design. Modern . Location 100%. Check in by Vincent was such a great first impression, really makes a difference.

Grumpiness of staff about taking glass to the pool - it’s understandable but should be asked at the bar (& more staff on the bar too) and then I saw people taking wine bottles in. Also more seating round the pool.

Breakfast exceeded our expectations. Very well organised, very helpful staff, particularly Alice, who went over & above the call of duty, and the coffee was EXCELLENT!

No grilled tomatoes for breakfast!!

I liked how laid back everything was - just left to our own devices and landlord/owner was very helpful and nice

I would of liked it if there was actual curtains on the windows - as the windows are above the bed as soon as the sun came up that kept me awake all morning was awful. Also a mini kettle and some coffee would of been good :)

Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The ensuite was clean and bright. There was adequate parking.

The location is out of Lerwick opposite the ferry port. It was hard to see where to enter from the car park and we came in via the basement which gave a most unappealing first impression. Although our room was pleasant, there was a lot of mould on the window frames of our room which was not healthy. The hotel overall was very shabby and in need of refurbishment. Wallpaper was peeling off the wall in the corridor. Some staff on the reception were quite curt. We thought the breakfast was poor particularly if you wanted a continental breakfast. There was very little fresh fruit, only sugary yoghurts and a poor choice of cereals. We had one evening meal on our first night. I had the sea food salad which was not at all appetising and I became ill with extreme vomiting and diarrhoea the following day. Later in the week when I was feeling a bit better we visited the sister hotel, the Lerwick and it was much more modern, clean and bright - it was hard to believe they were part of the same chain.

The WiFi seemed okay.

The place needs a lot of TLC - the carpets are old and dirty, everything looks worn, and the bed wasn’t very comfy.
