Lovely location - the information provided was Ok - especially as arrived quite late. Hosts there to meet us and sort out bags and a quick guide of what was in room and facilities in the outer corridor. Room was a great size and had a few extra touches to make it a relaxing place. Flexible on the time of breakfast so we could have a relaxed start to the day. Excellent breakfast with lots of really lovely locally sourced products, their own jams and I think better cooked than many good hotels we've stayed at. In fact almost too much food - we asked to get the homemade muffins to takeaway for later. Hosts very informative on where to go for food and other activities in the area - we didn't have time for that but considering a return with some more time to do so.

One of the main snags was the way the curtains worked in the sloping roof - didn't really do an effective job in blocking out morning light - possibly getting fitted velux type blinds would be better? It did mean we woke earlier but the views all pleasant and didn't feel rushed in any way. Seemed to be an issue filling bath with hot water but understood the plumber was due to get that fixed.

I went for a weekend break, I had to get the TV tuned in and was only 3 channels the rest was music ones, it was cold and draughty from the window and noisy from the other resident's

I felt the house didn't feel very "homey". It would have felt a bit more comfortable with a few pictures on the walls and a few "nicknacks"!

The location was great. We paid for an upgrade to the suites which had an amazing view.

The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The hotel doesn’t look like it has been maintained. We booked this weekend to relax and for my birthday however we were woken up at 7am by beer barrels being removed from the bar at the hotel and new ones being delivered. This noise went on for an hour of constant bashing of steel beer barrels and loud talking . This was right below our window. Very disappointing and really ruined the start to our stay. After paying for an upgrade and then being disturbed , I would have rather not had the upgrade. The hotel also does not provide any shampoo and conditioner and toiley scrub is left in the bathroom. Our main door was very noisy, it was constantly banging all through the night. The position of our headboard was right opposite the door of the other room, so whenever they entered/exited the room it was very loud and made our headboard shake. The room have not been upkept, lots of damaged to doors/walls that could easily be fixed.
