The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Deirdre, David, and Dexter were very welcoming and helpful. Comfy bed, nice room, and yummy breakfast. Nice location, quite close to the city centre. My husband didn't like the single-track road leading to Druid's View, but apart from that, it was a lovely 2 night stay. Thank you very much

The single-track road leading to Druid's View... a minor dislike

The location of the property was fantastic, very close to the town centre and train station and was easy to access with the car. The complimentary snacks were also a great addition.

Unfortunately some dust build up on the bedside tables and the towels supplied did not smell very pleasant.

Perfect 3-bed holiday home for our mini holiday. Comfortable and clean. It had everything we wanted. Great location too.

I was very late checkin - hotel seemed clean, room was fine, didn't really have much else to do with the place.

So, the bus directions on the website take you to the Holiday Inn the other end of Colnbrook - which at midnight is not great. It took me ages to get an Uber back to the correct location and had to book an Uber. The Bus went almost past the front door of the hotel, but the instructions were to stay on for another 10 mins.

There is some traffic noise at the front if the windows are open, but this is Ambleside - and it's what you expect!

Unfortunately, I didn't sleep well due to the floor boards creeking most of the night, not to mention what sounded like the boiler 😫

Check in was OK. Parking outside easy and cheap. Good location.

The hotel is a very old, Georgian building with large windows but a very tired interior. I had booked 'best available', and a single room. I have stayed in many hotels and this was the worst experience I have had by far. Early May; it was 32 degrees outside and the heating, via a radiator, was on in the room. It could not be turned off. The sun was shining into the room compounding the problem. The window could only be opened 9 inches so I couldn't even get a breeze from outside in the night when the outside cooled down. A fan was provided but it basically just moved hot air around. The sink had no plug nor a grill, so when my lipstick accidently fell into the basin as I was doing my makeup to go out (no shelf space to put anything in the microscopic bathroom) it fell straight down the plug hole and disappeared! I spend 10 minutes fishing it out. The chair in the room was badly stained. The room was tiny, and was not what I expected at all in terms of standard of accommodation. I complained to reception, but the girl on it barely spoke English and didn't offer to help or put things right.
