Comfortable room for one - I came to see a little bit of the Palio, only saw the first day when horses were selected, so I don't think it was quite as busy. The hotel is a little far from the center of town, the bus ride was a little long. Parking was great - again, not sure if it was because it wasn't too busy, but I had a spot right outside the front door. Staff were very nice.

Glad to stay here. The bed in my opinion was very firm and I could feel the springs on my bed. the room had the bare necessities. The room stayed nice and cool with the fan and windows open. Elena, the receptionist, was so professional, friendly and very accommodating, she really made the whole experience so much better. The hotel was conveniently located but a bit out of the turisty center which made it quite and enjoyable. It took us less than 15 min to walk to the main square. But the VIEW from the rooftop terrace was everything, one of the main reasons I booked this place. It was quite the sight!

FAQs about hotels in Siena

Romantic Renaissance

Surrounded by rolling hills and Chianti vineyards, Siena shines as a jewel of the Tuscan Renaissance, and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience the famous Palio di Siena horse race, catch the pulse of the city at Piazza del Campo, visit the beautiful Duomo cathedral…and fall in love with this charming city!

Founded by Etruscans around 900 BC, the city was first conquered by Romans and later by Lombards. The Middle Ages saw it becoming the independent and flourishing Republic of Siena, until its annexation to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.

The economic difficulties that followed turned out to be a blessing for the preservation of its historic center. Adorned with frescoes by Ghirlandaio and bass-reliefs by Donatello, Lorenzo Ghiberti, and Jacopo della Quercia, the Duomo represents the highest expression of this well-kept legacy. The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, with the Palazzo Pubblico and the Gaia Fountain, is still the heart and soul of the city. Follow the labyrinth of narrow streets and passages that irradiate from there and you will be enchanted by its romantic atmosphere from ancient times.

The closest airports are Peretola Airport in Florence and Galileo Galilei International Airport in Pisa, though Guglielmo Marconi Airport in Bologna is also well connected. While planning your trip, don’t forget to check out the Siena accommodations deals on Booking.com!

Siena is an absolute gem, with a lovely sense of community and friendly people. There is so much to see and admire, but the Duomo (and especially the new Porta del Cielo) is the star attraction. But avoid Palio time if you don't like crowds!

Loved walking around and shopping. Saw beautiful places and buildings. Didn’t realise that transport on a Sunday so limited so unable to visit neighbouring towns but spent a lovely time relaxing at a huge park. Quite a walk as on opposite side of town but lovely. Sorry can’t remember the name. Lots of fruit trees and vegetable gardens.

Siena, Italy, is nothing short of magical, a city where...

Siena, Italy, is nothing short of magical, a city where history, culture, and beauty converge in the most enchanting way. From the moment you set foot in the heart of the city, you’re transported back in time, surrounded by medieval architecture and narrow, cobblestone streets that wind through centuries of rich heritage. The centerpiece, of course, is the Piazza del Campo, an awe-inspiring square that’s known for its unique shell-like shape. It’s the site of the famous Palio di Siena, a thrilling horse race that encapsulates the city’s spirited tradition. Siena’s charm lies not only in its stunning buildings but also in its vibrant atmosphere. Whether you’re sipping coffee at a quaint café or exploring the Duomo di Siena, the city's iconic cathedral, you’ll find that every corner offers a new delight. The Duomo is a masterpiece, with intricate frescoes and stunning marble floors, making it one of the most impressive Gothic cathedrals in Italy. Beyond the architecture, Siena offers exceptional food and wine. The Tuscan cuisine is fresh, hearty, and full of flavor, with local specialties like pici pasta and panforte (a traditional fruitcake) that make every meal a celebration. Pair that with a glass of Chianti, and you’ll feel like you’ve discovered the true taste of Italy. What’s truly special about Siena, however, is the warmth of the people. Locals greet you with a genuine smile and are always happy to share a piece of their culture. If you’re looking for an authentic Italian experience, Siena is the perfect destination, blending history, beauty, and hospitality into an unforgettable journey.

Siena is a beautiful and enchanting city. The Duomo is absolutely incredible – one of the most stunning cathedrals I’ve ever seen. The entire city can be explored on foot, and every street is full of charm and history. There are plenty of great restaurants, lovely piazzas, and amazing views everywhere you look. Siena is a place that is truly worth visiting; the atmosphere is unique and unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Beautiful city but it was very hot (June/July) and crowded due to the Palio. On the one hand this added to the occasion. But if you are not interested in the horse races and sensitive to the heat chose another time.

A team at the hotel that was REALLY wonderful. Great English, giving all necessary information, very friendly, having a "what does the guest need" mind. The room is rather small and without much luxury, the bathroom top. All very clean. It seems the people running the place really know what to do to make the guest feel at home. A WONDERFUL garden (breakfast) and the location 2 mins walking from the Campo is just perfect.

We unexpectedly extended our stay in Siena and booked this hotel last minute. Staff were very kind, breakfast (although starchy as is the norm in Italy) was lovely both out doors and in (one day of rain). Location is literally across the street from the escalators up into the city which was very convenient. Rooms are very clean and bed was comfy.
