FAQs about hotels in Bath

Roman Ruins and Georgian Grandeur

Wonderful, World Heritage site Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.

Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.

Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the Avon River overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-level Pulteney Weir and registered historic Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options include Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and brand-name stores on Milsom and George streets.

North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.

Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath hotel, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Bath is a beautiful city to visit, from the Royal Crescent, the Circle and the city centre there is lots to see and do and steeped in history. It has been a few years since I have visited Bath and there was a lovely vibe in the city, it feels like its had a revamp. While defintely touristy it wasn't too busy. Lots to see around the area from Stonehenge through to Bristol. Parking signage is fabulous so you can see where to park, and if not staying on the outskirts it is easy to get public transport or a local taxi/uber. Would have loved to visit Prior Park Landscape Garden and didn't realise that access is only via walking, think that information could have been better provided as to how to get there e.g park and ride or Uber etc.

You must go on the walking tour which starts at the Roman baths. 2 hours of a very knowledgeable guide will give you a great handle on the city. Roman Baths are an excellent insight into Roman life and the Georgian house at Royal Crescent is a must.

We loved the Roman Baths, very informative museum displays and worthwhile doing the guided tour as well as the audio tour. Bath Abbey was beautiful and we had the added bonus of a lunchtime organ recital. We had a delicious meal at a Chinese restaurant a few minutes walk from the hotel.

Very easy to get around. I mostly walked everywhere. Came to visit Bath Thermae. Visited Bath Abbey - it is very pretty inside. Ate mostly at the hotel that has a very nice restaurant. Stopped at the coffee shops for breaks, chose independent ones rather than chain ones to support local businesses. Tried local ice cream at Salcombe Dairy - I would eat their ice cream every day! It was exceptional. The city is like an open-air museum with its glorious architecture. It is very very beautiful.

Beautiful city, lots to see and do, I would advise you plan your trip depending how long you are staying, to ensure you visit all the places, some attractions are expensive to get in and some may be better booking in advance. Depending on the weather the boat trips get very busy.

the look of the hotel and the interiors is what attracted me to it in the first place was exactly how I thought it would be when I got there I wanted to be in a nice relaxing setting for my first time in bath and the Henrietta House delivered on that, the staff where extremely friendly and helpful and we arrived bit late on the evening and where given a free upgraded room and the room was very spacious and the bed I slept on was best sleep I’ve have in ages very comfortable bed!

It was a very nice stay! My partner and I were in Bath for a short work visit, stayed in Apex hotel and had a lovely time there. The room was spatious and clean. I think, there were not many people at the hotel at the moment, we didn't hear any noises. We also visited spa and enjoyed it, was really quite and peaceful (winter travels are the best).
