I recently stayed at Langdale Chase in Windermere and it was a wonderful experience. The location is perfect, right on the lake with breathtaking views, making it an ideal getaway. The setting and scenery are truly special. The food was very good and the atmosphere made every meal even more enjoyable. The staff were excellent throughout my stay. I had an issue during my visit, which I reported, and they handled it promptly and professionally. When I needed to get to the train station but there was a traffic jam, the hotel arranged for me to go in their own car, which was incredibly thoughtful. I also booked a boat trip through the hotel, and the team who took us out were very friendly and welcoming. They made the trip on the lake especially enjoyable.

Very comfortable bed, spacious terrace, and soundproof walls--I had a heavy snorer in the next room whom I could only hear very faintly. The location is steps away from shops and restaurants, and it was easy to walk to Queen Adelaide's Hill. The staff messaged me directly and sent photos for clear communication.

I don’t think what I review in words would be enough to sum up Windermere and the Lake District it is the most beautifuly breathtaking place you could see , with its stunning views of the lake taking a boat trip to many other parts of the district , the walking up many fells it’s a hikers paradise , it has plenty of local transport that runs every day to get you around or you can use the ferry ,, plenty of places to eat and drink lots of local shops and businesses offering beautiful things to buy , our favourite place the aira force waterfall , you must take the bus the journey will be one of the most beautiful things you have ever seen , find the trails and walk them if you can especially the one from from grassmere to Ambleside it’s about 5 miles around the lake with a diffrent landscape every 10 minutes , good walking shoes a packed lunch and drink and of you go

Very lively near the town centre but easy to get away on walks around the area. Plenty of buses and lots to see and do. We went to the Flying Pig for dinner. Food was fine and the staff were very good. However , we didn’t like the pubs atmosphere or lack of it !!!

Love the open top bus which charges £10 for an all day hop on hop off ticket. Great access to train station. Wide variety of bars, restaurants and bars to suit everyone. Main areas around lake are mainly flat to suitable for those with walking issues. Lots of boat excursions. Nearby hotels offer half day sauna and hot tub experiences. We go often and would recommend to anyone, singles and families alike.

Truly beautiful part of the UK windermere is huge and has many beautiful little villages attached to it. Obviously its got a massive Beatrix potter vibe everywhere you go which is nice. There's so many amazing walks to do around windermere that offer epic views. We ate at hooked a lovely fish and seafood restaurant was pricey but everything was delicious. And lots of lovely coffee shops to explore

We cannot fault The Penn at all, it is so conveniently located if you are wanting to explore what Windermere has to offer. I was a little sceptical about the self check-in at first, but it actually makes the stay super easy! The room was beautifully styled, spacious and comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel had ample parking out the front and the complimentary fudge was such a nice touch. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back 😊
